In the wake of the Vanduul Incursion of Oberion in 2945, Task Force 77, codenamed “Omega,” emerged as a stalwart bulwark against the encroaching threat. As the war raged on, the sacrifices made by Task Force 77 were profound, resulting in the loss of invaluable personnel and formidable ships. Despite their unwavering dedication, the Task Force’s effectiveness waned over time, leading to its absorption into other fleets and task forces.

Amidst the chaos, Task Force 77’s Admiral, recognizing the critical need for a steadfast defense against the Vanduul, sought to continue the fight. Granted militia rights upon retirement, he embarked on a mission to assemble a fleet, aspiring for one last great battle before age caught up with him.

Leveraging his connections within the UEE, the Admiral acquired a decommissioned IDRIS-P and meticulously refitted it using aftermarket enhancements. His resourcefulness led him to acquire retiring Krakens from Drake Interplanetary, augmenting the fleet’s capabilities. Seeking the expertise of surviving Task Force 77 officers, he united them under the banner of Omega.

Guided by the Admiral’s leadership, Omega bolstered the defense, staunchly resisting further Vanduul incursions. However, driven by a desire to secure more than mere honor in protecting the UEE, the Admiral ventured into the private sector. Negotiating through connections, Omega secured land claim, mining, and trade rights.

As the Admiral advanced in age, he entrusted the reins of Omega to new leadership, signifying a transition from his tenure. Omega evolved from a mere militia fleet into a multifaceted powerhouse, supported by multiple fleets and a burgeoning corporate sector.
