Star Citizen was once a good idea for a game when I first backed it. But as the money started coming in, Chris Roberts and CIG got greedy and delusional. So much so, that it's now nothing more than a fragmented hybrid idea, without focus and relying on cash-grab ship sales to keep the company going.
If the game ever gets made, it'll be a bleedin' miracle, because it's WAAAAY behind schedule, and will continue to be so the more it's messed about with. People have tried to raise their concerns about this, but are usually slapped-down by the "Church of Roberts" acolytes, all mindlessly chanting the words: "In Chris we trust" whilst emptying their wallets at the game.
Thankfully, there is a much better alternative in ELITE DANGEROUS, made by David Braben, co-creator of the original ELITE game in the 1980s. So if you want a real space sim that's still true to the original and isn't out to fleece you of every penny you have, then it's really the game for you. Check it out here:
