I am also currently playing Elite: Dangerous while waiting for Star Citizen's release.
*I've been playing space simulators since Particle Systems Ltd.'s Independence War (1998) and flight simulators since Sierra Entertainment's Red Baron (1990), Jane's Fighter Anthology (1997), Novalogic's F-16 Multirole Fighter/MiG-29 Fulcrum (1998) and I am a veteran of Chris Roberts' games, most notably, Freelancer (2003).
*I fly with a HOTAS (Saitek x52) and pedals (CH Pro Pedals).
