Some group of Kr’thak has struck our training station in the orbit around Tethtām on the edge of Hyoton, taking care to target the escape vessels as they completed their awful mission. Hundreds of untested young Service members fresh from their mothers’ homes, and (honorably) in possession of the future of their Lines, were all ambushed. Imperial rescue ships failed at a timely arrival, and those who had not already passed away were forced to make a wretchedly pitiful choice. The space station and its ships were all tragically lost.
The path is straightforward. This situation must be met with a response. The Empire is once again preparing for war after only ten years of peace.
I stand in the shadow of my Revered Mother, Empress Ti.h’a of the Xy.ō, the Merciful and Honorable, and call upon House Gatac to dutifully serve the People. Only your prestigious ships can be trusted to convey the critical supplies that will embolden and shelter our soldiers, in a manner safe and swift.
