We are the harbingers of peace and security, the rage of humanity’s fallen, and the hope of the United Earth Empire.

We are the 3rd Defense Fleet, we operate primarily in Stanton, and on occasion conduct missions and patrols in Nyx. Our motto is Definsio Invictus, latin for “Unconquered Defense”.

History

3rd Defense Fleet

United Earth Empire Navy

Motto: Defensio Invictus — Defense Unconquered

The 3rd Defense Fleet is the newest fleet in the United Earth Empire (UEE) Navy, established by High Command to serve as the Empire’s premier defensive force against the ever-present threat of Vanduul aggression. Comprising the 14th Marine Regiment of the UEE Marines, Squadron 17, the 41st Logistics Corps, and the Legio Zero Praetorian Guard, the fleet represents the pinnacle of military readiness, discipline, and unwavering loyalty to humanity.

Our mission is clear: to defend the Stanton, Terra, and Nyx systems against any and all threats to the United Earth Empire and its citizens. Guided by our motto, Defensio Invictus, we stand as an unyielding shield between humanity and those who would threaten its survival. We do not seek glory through conquest, nor recognition through victory. Our purpose is to ensure that the people of the Empire may live in peace, knowing that those who stand watch will never abandon their post.

Forged in the Battle of Vega II

The origins of the 3rd Defense Fleet are rooted in one of the most tragic and defining engagements in UEE military history: the Battle of Vega II.

Among the founding members of our fleet were veterans who fought alongside the 2nd Fleet under the command of Admiral Ernst Bishop, now Grand Admiral of the United Earth Empire Navy. During the battle, Grand Admiral John Trask and 3,409 UEE Navy personnel made the ultimate sacrifice while securing the escape of key UEE High Command members. After successfully ensuring their evacuation, Grand Admiral Trask’s vessel was overwhelmed by a squadron of Vanduul fighters. The ship was destroyed, and all personnel aboard were lost.

Their sacrifice became a lasting symbol of duty, courage, and devotion to the Empire.

In the aftermath of the battle, the Legatus Navium promoted Admiral Ernst Bishop to the rank of Grand Admiral. Assuming command of the 1st Invictus Fleet, Bishop and the surviving veterans carried forward the lessons of Vega II: that victory alone is not enough, and that the survival of the Empire depends upon the strength of those entrusted with its defense.

Recognizing the need for a dedicated, elite defensive force, UEE High Command subsequently ordered the mobilization and establishment of the 3rd Defense Fleet. Its mandate was absolute: to stand ready against every Vanduul incursion and ensure that no attack upon the Empire would go unanswered.

The Finest in the Service of Humanity

From its inception, the 3rd Defense Fleet was envisioned as an elite formation within the UEE Navy. Its ranks would be filled not by numbers alone, but by the finest personnel drawn from across the UEE Navy, UEE Army, and UEE Marines. Supported by the logistical expertise of the 41st Logistics Corps, the combat capabilities of Squadron 17, the battlefield strength of the 14th Marine Regiment, and the steadfast protection of the Legio Zero Praetorian Guard, the fleet was built to operate as one unified force.

Every unit has a purpose. Every member has a responsibility. Every mission carries the weight of the lives we are sworn to protect.

We are soldiers, pilots, guardians, and defenders. We are the first line of resistance against those who would threaten our home, and the last line standing when all others have fallen. Our strength lies not merely in our ships or weapons, but in our discipline, our brotherhood, and our absolute commitment to the mission.

The Shield That Never Breaks

Today, as the Empire enjoys a period of relative peace, the 3rd Defense Fleet continues to prepare for the battles that may yet come. Peace is not guaranteed, and vigilance is never optional. We train, we organize, and we stand ready, knowing that the next threat may emerge without warning.

We seek those who embody the highest ideals of the United Earth Empire: the strongest in character, the most fearless in adversity, the most disciplined in service, and the most loyal to humanity. We welcome those who understand that true strength is measured not by the power one possesses, but by the responsibility one is willing to bear.

To those who answer the call, the 3rd Defense Fleet offers more than a place among its ranks. It offers a chance to become part of a legacy forged in sacrifice, strengthened through unity, and dedicated to the preservation of human civilization.

We are the guardians of our systems. We are the protectors of our people. We are the inheritors of the sacrifices made at Vega II.

For the Empire. For Humanity. For Those Who Cannot Fight for Themselves.

We are the 3rd Defense Fleet.

Fleet Disciplinary Regulations

DEFENSIO INVICTA — Defense Unconquered

ARTICLE I — PURPOSE

This code exists to maintain discipline, protect the integrity of the Fleet, and ensure every member can enjoy the game in a respectful and welcoming environment.

Discipline shall be fair, proportional, and consistent. The objective is correction before punishment, and camaraderie above ego.

We are here to play together, fight together, and have fun together.

ARTICLE II — GENERAL OFFENSES

1. Disrespect and Harassment
Personal attacks, bullying, discrimination, harassment, or persistent toxic behavior toward Fleet members are prohibited.

2. Misuse of Rank or Authority
No officer or NCO may use rank to intimidate members, demand personal favors, settle personal disputes, or control activities outside Fleet business.

3. Failure to Follow Operational Orders
During organized operations, members are expected to follow reasonable mission instructions. Deliberate insubordination that disrupts the operation may result in disciplinary action. Honest mistakes, misunderstandings, and reasonable questions are not offenses.

4. Disruption of Fleet Operations
Intentional griefing, repeated disruption of communications, sabotage of team objectives, or deliberate team-killing is prohibited. Accidents and good-natured joking that everyone involved enjoys are not misconduct.

5. Cheating and Exploitation
The use of cheats, prohibited exploits, or unauthorized tools to gain an unfair advantage or undermine Fleet activities is prohibited.

6. Misrepresentation and Abuse of Privileges
Impersonating command staff, abusing Fleet permissions, or knowingly spreading false information to damage the Fleet may constitute an offense.

7. Conduct Outside Fleet Activities
Members are expected to represent the Fleet responsibly when acting in an official capacity. Private disagreements, casual gameplay, and lawful personal conduct shall not be policed without a legitimate Fleet-related reason.

ARTICLE III — DISCIPLINARY ACTIONS

Discipline shall be based on the seriousness, intent, frequency, and impact of the offense.

Level 1 — Informal Correction
For minor first-time offenses, misunderstandings, or accidental disruptions.

A friendly reminder or private conversation.

Clarification of expectations.

No formal record required.

Level 2 — Formal Warning
For repeated minor misconduct or a more serious incident.

A clear explanation of the offense.

An opportunity for the member to respond.

A warning that further violations may result in stronger action.

Level 3 — Probation or Temporary Restriction
For repeated or significant misconduct.

Temporary loss of event leadership or specific permissions.

A defined probation period.

A clear path toward restoring full privileges.

Level 4 — Suspension
For serious misconduct, repeated violations after warnings, or substantial disruption to Fleet activities.

Temporary removal from Fleet events or communication platforms.

A stated duration and conditions for return, where appropriate.

Level 5 — Dismissal from the Fleet
Reserved for severe misconduct, cheating, credible threats, serious harassment, malicious abuse of authority, or repeated violations despite prior intervention.

Removal from the Fleet when continued membership is incompatible with the safety or integrity of the community.

Severe offenses may bypass earlier levels when necessary to protect members or the Fleet.

ARTICLE IV — DUE PROCESS

Every accused member shall have a reasonable opportunity to explain their side before disciplinary action is finalized, except when immediate temporary action is necessary for safety.

Decisions shall be based on credible information, not rumors, personal grudges, or rank alone.

Whenever practical, a leader uninvolved in the dispute shall review serious allegations.

Members may appeal formal discipline to a higher authority or a designated impartial reviewer.

Retaliation against anyone who raises a good-faith concern or participates in a review is prohibited.

ARTICLE V — COMMAND ACCOUNTABILITY

Command staff are held to the same standards as all other members, with additional responsibility for their leadership.

Officers and NCOs shall lead by example, apply rules consistently, and resolve minor conflicts calmly. Abuse of authority may result in suspension of leadership privileges, demotion, or dismissal.

No leader may issue disciplinary action solely because a member disagrees respectfully, asks a legitimate question, or declines optional activities.

ARTICLE VI — THE FUN CLAUSE

The Fleet is a gaming community, not a second job.

Real life comes first. No member shall be punished for missing an event, taking a break, or being unavailable.

Casual gameplay does not require the same discipline as organized operations.

Friendly banter, roleplay, jokes, and competitive rivalry are welcome when they remain respectful and consensual.

Members shall not be forced to participate in roleplay, training, or events beyond clearly agreed requirements.

Leaders should prefer conversation, humor, and correction over formal punishment whenever possible.

No disciplinary process should become a public spectacle or a means of humiliating a member.

ARTICLE VII — FINAL AUTHORITY

Fleet Command is responsible for interpreting and enforcing this code. All decisions must remain consistent with these regulations and the Fleet’s commitment to fairness, respect, and enjoyable gameplay.

This code may be amended as the Fleet grows, provided changes are communicated clearly to its members.

Our discipline gives us strength. Our loyalty gives us purpose. Our camaraderie makes us a Fleet.
