History
The 42nd Special Reconnaissance Regiment was officially stood up in early 2962.
After years of frustrating Vanduul raids along the Orion Line, UEE Marine Command decided they needed a small, independent unit that could operate deep in contested space without waiting for fleet support. Lt. Cmdr. John “Jxhniz” Smith, a veteran recon specialist from the Tiber campaigns and the Battle of Orion, was chosen to lead it.
Given detached status and a Carrack as our mobile home, the 42nd was built from the ground up to be self-sufficient. We run long-range patrols, stealth fighter escorts, and ground commando raids far beyond the reach of the main fleets.
Over the past four years we’ve quietly earned a reputation for silent, effective operations. We map enemy movements, hit Vanduul staging points, and deny the enemy safe ground all while staying small, selective, and tight-knit.
We’re not a massive division. We never wanted to be.
We’re a regiment of Marines who actually enjoy living like a real detached unit in the black training hard, flying dangerous missions, and looking out for each other.
That’s who we are, and that’s who we intend to stay.
Per Astra, Per Hostem.
Manifesto
We’re the UEE 42nd Special Reconnaissance Regiment (Detached) – a small milsim group in Star Citizen that tries to feel like a real detached Marine unit operating way out in the black.
I’m Lt. Cmdr. John “Jxhniz” Smith, and I put this regiment together because I wanted more than just hopping into random org ops. I wanted a group where we could actually train together, run proper missions with structure, and still have fun telling stories and building our own little corner of the Star Citizen universe.
We run long-range patrols with our Carrack, fly stealth Hornet escorts, and do ground raids and boarding actions against the Vanduul. We use ranks, SOPs, and take training seriously — not because we’re trying to be hardcore, but because it makes the gameplay way more immersive and satisfying when things go right (or hilariously wrong).
At the same time, we’re not robots. We roleplay our characters, we joke around in comms, and we genuinely enjoy hanging out with each other. Whether you’re a seasoned milsim vet or someone who’s never touched a rank structure before, as long as you show up with respect and a willingness to learn, you’ll fit in.
.
h2. We keep the drama low, the standards reasonable, and the camaraderie high. If you’re looking for a group that feels like a proper unit instead of just another Discord full of randoms, come fly with us.
We’re small, we’re selective, and we actually give a damn about the people in the regiment.
Per Astra, Per Hostem
If that sounds like your kind of thing, drop us a message. We’d be happy to have you.
— Lt. Cmdr. John “Jxhniz” Smith
Commanding Officer, 42nd SRR (Detached)
Charter
1 – Be Respectful
Treat every member with courtesy and respect in-game, on Discord, and on comms. No toxicity, harassment, racism, sexism, or drama. We’re a unit, not a battlefield.
2 – No Cheating or Exploits
We play fair. No exploits, hacks, or intentional game-breaking behavior. If something feels wrong, ask first.
3 – Follow the Chain of Command
Ranks and orders exist for a reason. Listen to your superiors during operations. If you have feedback or concerns, bring them up privately after the mission.
4 – Have Fun & Look After Each Other
This is still a game. We want everyone to enjoy their time. If someone is struggling or having a bad day, check in on them. We’re a team first.
