History

“Do you ever think the Vanduul are running from something?”

Long before the Abyss Wardens existed, they were part of a renowned mercenary company whose name has long since been lost to time. They fought for whoever honored their contracts, earning a reputation across the UEE frontier for discipline, professionalism, and never abandoning a mission.

Following the fall of Orion in 2712, the company fought alongside the UEE throughout the long Battle of Tiber. In 2734, they were ordered to hold a strategic position while the UEE fleet regrouped. Reinforcements never came. Unknown to them, High Command had already ordered a full withdrawal, sacrificing the mercenaries to cover the retreat.

When the battle was lost, the survivors attempted to escape, only to discover their quantum drives had been crippled during the fighting. Unable to reach a jump point or contact the retreating fleet, they drifted helplessly into the uncharted darkness of deep space—the place they would come to know only as the Abyss.

Starvation, failing ships, and dwindling hope nearly claimed them before they discovered a colossal graveyard fleet drifting through the darkness. Salvaging its countless wrecks gave them the supplies needed to survive, but among the derelicts they also recovered fragmented logs speaking of an unknown force that had emerged from even deeper space. Whatever it was had annihilated an entire fleet and vanished without a trace.

Convinced that humanity faced a far greater threat than the Vanduul alone, the survivors abandoned their former identity and became the Abyss Wardens. From the remains of the graveyard fleet they forged a hidden fortress deep within the Abyss, dedicating themselves to preparing for the day whatever lurked in the darkness would return.
Generations later, the Wardens emerged from the Abyss to find an Empire that had forgotten them. They began striking UEE military supply lines and corporate convoys—not out of greed, but to build the strength needed for the war they believe is still coming. They refuse to trust the UEE, believing that an Empire willing to abandon them once will do so again when the darkness beyond the stars finally arrives.

The UEE believes the Abyss Wardens are pirates.

The Abyss Wardens believe they are humanity’s last line of defense.

Manifesto

Manifesto

“The Abyss does not forge legends. It forges survivors.”

Who We Are

The Abyss Wardens are a Pirate-focused Star Citizen organization built on teamwork, loyalty, and organized gameplay. Our goal is to create a mature, active community where every member has a purpose and every operation feels like part of something bigger.

Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or just beginning your journey through the ‘verse, you’ll find a place within our ranks. We believe that every role is essential to the success of the Order— From Pilots, Marines, Logistics, and ship crew.

Steel wins battles. Brotherhood wins wars.

What We Do

The Abyss Wardens participate in every major aspect of Star Citizen.

Our operations include piracy, fleet warfare, bounty hunting, industrial operations, mining, salvage, logistics, exploration, medical support, cargo hauling, and Mercenary work.

We also organize and participate in major dynamic events, including Stormbreaker, Tech Smuggler, Hathor, Tactical Strike groups, and future large-scale events as they are introduced. Whether it’s earning credits, securing valuable resources, or simply enjoying the best content Star Citizen has to offer, the Order answers the call.

What We Expect

The Abyss Wardens are built on loyalty, respect, and a good crew to fly with.

We’re here to enjoy Star Citizen together, whether that’s pulling off a successful raid, tackling the latest event, or simply hanging out in voice chat. We ask that members treat one another with respect, avoid unnecessary drama, and help create the kind of community you’d want to log in to every day.

Real life always comes first. Jobs, family, school, and everything outside the game will always be more important than an operation. Join us when you can, have fun when you’re here, and if you disappear for a while, just let us know.

When you fly with the Wardens, be a good crewmate. Watch each other’s backs, communicate with your team, and remember that the best stories in the ‘verse are made together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to own a specific ship?

No. Whether you own a starter ship or a capital vessel, there is a role for you within the Order. Teamwork matters far more than the size of your fleet.

Do I need experience?

Not at all. New and veteran players are equally welcome. We regularly train our members and are always happy to help players learn new mechanics, professions, and tactics.

Do you roleplay?

Yes. While participation is never forced, the Abyss Wardens embrace military-style roleplay to enhance immersion during operations, events, and campaigns.

Do you participate in piracy?

Absolutely. Piracy is one of our primary activities, but it is conducted as organized gameplay—not random griefing. We value tactical planning, teamwork, and creating memorable encounters over easy kills.

What makes the Abyss Wardens different?

We believe an organization is only as strong as its community. We invest in our members through training, leadership opportunities, organized events, and large-scale operations designed to give everyone a chance to contribute.

Every member matters.

Every role matters.

Every operation matters.

The Choice

The ‘verse is filled with organizations chasing credits, territory, or reputation.

We’re building something that will last.

If you’re looking for a place to call home, a crew you can rely on, and an organization that values loyalty as much as skill…

Stand with the Abyss Wardens. The darkness is easier to face together.

The Seven Laws of the Abyss

I. Leave No Warden Behind
The Empire abandoned us. We never will.

II. Loyalty is Absolute
The Order is your home. Your brothers and sisters are your family.

III. Honor the Chain of Command
Unity wins battles. Orders are to be followed without hesitation.

IV. The Mission Comes First
Every operation serves the future of humanity.

V. Waste Nothing
Every ship, weapon, credit, and scrap strengthens the Order. Nothing is without value.

VI. Strength Through Discipline
Skill is earned. Discipline is chosen. Master both.

VII. Never Forget the Abyss
Never forget why we exist. Every battle fought and every resource gathered prepares humanity for the day the darkness returns.

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

The Abyss Wardens are not an army of conquest. We do not wage war for territory, wealth, or power. Every action we take serves a single purpose: to ensure the Order is prepared for the day the darkness beyond known space reaches humanity.

Every Warden has a place within the Order. Whether you command a capital ship, fly escort, repair damaged hulls, haul supplies, provide medical aid, or fight on the ground, your duty is no less important than any other. Victory is never won by a single warrior, but by an Order that moves as one.

Within these ranks there are no spectators. Every Warden is expected to train, to improve, and to answer the call when the Order requires them. Complacency is the first step toward extinction. We survived the Abyss because every survivor carried their weight. That truth has never changed.

Respect your fellow Wardens. Uphold the chain of command. Conduct yourself with honor, even when your enemies do not. We are judged not by the names they call us, but by the discipline we maintain when no one is watching.

The UEE calls us outlaws because it cannot understand our purpose. They see only the convoys we intercept and the ships we seize. They do not see the fortress hidden in the darkness. They do not see the preparations being made. They do not hear the echoes of the fleet that never returned.

One day they will.

When that day comes, the Abyss Wardens will already be waiting.
