Afterlife Initiative / AFTL

2952 on Lorville in the Stanton system a group of weapons manufacturing and development workers who had been taken advantage of and worked to the bone made a plan in secret to escape their situation. They decided to steal a Kraken from their Overlords fleet during a planned maintenance procedure to make their own way in the Verse. These workers were some of the best in their field from Hurston Dynamics and some had worked for Behring in the past as well, they had their ideas stolen from them by the company and they were treated like slaves… they wanted revenge. Using their combined knowledge they could figure out when and where to make their move, after studying the ship and evaluating the situation, they made a stealthy and quick escape going according to plan. They got a good head start but the overlords realized what had happened in the morning and law enforcement was sent. Luckily the workers made it to Pyro and away from the long arm of corporate law before being caught.

After escaping to the Pyro system they met some pirates and gangs, after some brief tensions they came up with a deal both parties could benefit from. They made a plan with the gangs to get back at the Overlords and get rich while doing it. The only thing they needed to start their operation was supplies and tools, luckily their previous Overlords had exactly what they needed. With the pirates and gang members coming along they went back to Stanton and had the pirates harass the overlords ships and supply lines while at the same time the gangs were hitting their outposts and bases. With all the chaos from the devastating surprise attack the rest of the group went to raid their old workplace and got all the tools they needed with the pirates getting the materials. After the success of their revenge plan they quickly made their way back to Pyro.

In a few years the group had grown in size and was able to more than fulfill their end of the deal with the protection from the pirates and gangs. Some of the pirates and gang members decided to join the workers and form an organization that would make any weapon they could get the blueprint for, all in-house from the miners to the salesmen and have a security force to protect it and privateers to keep rivals in check. After some talking the workers convinced the previous pirates and gang members to stay on the right side of the law in high sec systems at least and to only pirate rival orgs.

With the expertise of the group they were able to make some of the best weapons money could buy and began to make a name for themselves. They needed a name for their group so they asked the workers who left Lorville, they decided to name the org “Afterlife Initiative” to reference the second and greater life they had started for themselves.
