History

Our History

Astral Concord was not born from nothing.

Before the Concord, there was The Core Star—a small organization built by a group of players who genuinely loved the idea of creating something larger together. At its height, Core Star grew to roughly twenty members and developed its own community, leadership, operations, and identity.

Its founders put enormous effort into keeping that vision alive. Events were organized, operations were planned, resources were provided, and countless hours were spent trying to create something members could call home.
But Star Citizen can be an unforgiving game around which to build a community.

Difficult patches, bugs, changing interests, and declining player morale gradually reduced activity. As a small organization, Core Star did not have the numbers of larger communities to absorb those periods. More and more responsibility for creating activity fell onto its leadership.
Eventually, running the organization began feeling more like maintaining a second job than playing a game with friends.

Rather than allowing that pressure to turn friendships sour, Core Star’s leadership peacefully chose different paths. One part of the community evolved into the independent Core Star Underground, while the original organization became largely inactive.

What remained, however, was experience.
We learned that bigger does not automatically mean better.
We learned that leadership cannot manufacture community.
We learned that operations should adapt to the people who show up—not make people feel obligated to show up.
We learned that members should be able to disappear during a difficult patch, play another game, handle real life, and return without feeling guilty.
Most importantly, we learned that an organization should enhance the game rather than become another responsibility waiting for you when you log in. So instead of attempting to rebuild Core Star exactly as it had been, we chose to begin again.

“Astral Concord”

Astral Concord represents that fresh start. Not Core Star 2.0. Not an attempt to recreate what was lost. A new organization built using the lessons the old one taught us. We chose an independent, grey identity rather than binding ourselves permanently to either lawful or criminal gameplay. We replaced rigid participation expectations with voluntary cooperation. We separated leadership from status and designed an organization capable of functioning whether three people are online or thirty. Here, leadership exists to support the community. Members are encouraged to create their own activities.

Operations scale around attendance.
Real life comes first. And nobody should need a particular rank, ship, profession, or wallet to matter. One piece of our past did come with us.

The Core Star.

Once the name of our former organization, the Core Star now survives as the symbol at the heart of Astral Concord. It represents where we came from, what we learned, and the idea that independent people can gather around something shared without surrendering what makes each of them different.
Core Star was our first chapter.
Astral Concord is the next.

We don’t know how large this community will eventually become, and we’ve deliberately stopped measuring success by numbers alone. If we grow large, we’ll grow naturally. If we remain a smaller group of people who genuinely enjoy flying together, we’ll consider that a success too. This time, we’re taking the journey one step at a time. No race, No second job, No need to pretend we’re something we’re not.
Just people exploring the ’verse together, building friendships, creating stories, and standing beside one another when it matters.

ASTRAL CONCORD

Independent. Adaptive. Together.

Strength in Unity.

Manifesto

✦ ASTRAL CONCORD MANIFESTO ✦
Strength in Unity

Astral Concord is an independent, new org built around freedom, cooperation, and enjoying the ’verse together.
We are neither permanently lawful nor criminal. We choose our own path, our own allies, and our own battles. But independence does not mean having no principles.

Our word matters. Our people matter.

We believe Star Citizen should remain a game—not become a second job. Real life comes first. Participation is voluntary, leadership is service, and no member’s value is determined by rank, activity hours, or the ships in their hangar.
Every career has a place here. Fighters, miners, salvagers, traders, explorers, engineers, medics, and new players all contribute in different ways.
We stay relaxed when we can and organize when we need to.

We don’t measure success by having the largest roster. We measure it by having a community people actually want to return to.
At the center of that community stands The Core Star—our symbol of different people and different paths united around something shared.
We fly independently.
We stand together when it matters.
And we grow at our own pace.

Charter

✦ CHARTER OF ASTRAL CONCORD ✦
Independent Expeditionary Coalition

Alignment: Independent / Grey
Motto: Strength in Unity
Symbol: The Core Star

PREAMBLE

Astral Concord is founded as an independent community of citizens united by cooperation, freedom of choice, mutual respect, and a shared desire to experience the Star Citizen universe together.
The Concord exists for its members.
Its members do not exist merely to sustain the organization.
We recognize that Star Citizen is a game, that real life comes first, and that a healthy community cannot be built through obligation alone.
Astral Concord therefore rejects unnecessary bureaucracy, forced participation, rank-based privilege, and the expectation that leadership must constantly manufacture activity.
Instead, we choose voluntary cooperation.
We choose adaptable organization.
We choose leadership through service.
We choose to allow members with different professions, interests, backgrounds, and playstyles to stand beneath one common symbol without requiring them to become the same.

That symbol is The Core Star.

Under it, we establish Astral Concord.

ARTICLE I — THE CONCORD
Section 1 — Name

The organization shall be known as:

ASTRAL CONCORD

Astral Concord may also be referred to as the Concord.

Section 2 — Classification

Astral Concord is an:

Independent Expeditionary Coalition

The Concord is a multi-role Star Citizen organization supporting combat, industry, logistics, exploration, intelligence, medical, rescue, trade, and other forms of sandbox gameplay.

Section 3 — Alignment

Astral Concord maintains an Independent / Grey alignment.

The Concord shall not permanently define itself as either lawful or criminal.
Actions and relationships shall instead be evaluated according to circumstances, organizational interests, existing agreements, member welfare, and the consequences of those actions.
The Concord may cooperate with lawful, neutral, grey, or criminal entities when doing so is consistent with its interests and principles.
Independence does not mean an absence of standards.

ARTICLE II — FOUNDING PRINCIPLES

Astral Concord is governed by several fundamental principles.

Members First
The organization exists to support the community and create opportunities for its members.
Real Life Comes First
No game, operation, rank, or organizational responsibility takes priority over legitimate real-life responsibilities.

Strength in Unity
Members remain individuals while voluntarily combining their abilities when cooperation benefits the whole.
Leadership Through Service
Authority carries responsibility.
Leadership exists to support members rather than use members for personal benefit.
Organized When Necessary
Astral Concord remains socially relaxed while using clear operational leadership when coordination is required.

Every Career Matters
No profession is inherently more valuable than another.
Combat, industry, logistics, exploration, intelligence, medical, support, and future gameplay systems all contribute to the Concord.
Adaptability Over Bureaucracy
The Concord shall build only the structure required by the community it actually has.

ARTICLE III — MEMBERSHIP
Section 1 — Eligibility

Astral Concord is an 18+ community.

Membership shall be open to individuals who accept the Concord’s Charter, community standards, and general philosophy.
Ship ownership, wealth, experience, reputation, or financial contribution shall not be required for membership.

Section 2 — Community Standing

Astral Concord recognizes three standard levels of community standing:

Initiate…
A prospective or newly accepted member becoming familiar with the Concord.

Concord Member…
A full member of Astral Concord.

Senior Member…
An established member recognized for trust, reliability, experience, and positive contribution to the community.
Senior Member is a position of recognition.
It does not automatically grant command authority.

Section 3 — Rights of Members

Members of Astral Concord have the right to:

Participate in available Concord activities.
Create informal activities and Rallies.
Pursue any gameplay profession available within the organization.
Cross-train between different professions.
Decline participation in operations.
Decline leadership responsibilities.
Take reasonable periods away from Star Citizen or the community.
Raise concerns regarding leadership or organizational decisions without retaliation.
Be treated according to the same community standards regardless of rank.
Maintain ownership and control of their personal ships and assets.
Leave Astral Concord voluntarily.

Section 4 — Responsibilities of Members

Members are expected to:
Treat others with reasonable respect.
Follow the Concord’s community rules.

Honor legitimate organizational agreements while representing Astral Concord.
Respect operational leadership during structured operations.
Protect private member and organizational information.
Avoid conduct deliberately intended to damage the community or its reputation.
Support fellow members when reasonably able and willing.

ARTICLE IV — LEADERSHIP
Section 1 — Purpose of Leadership

Leadership exists to serve the Concord.
Leadership positions shall not exist merely for prestige, seniority, or ceremonial authority.
A leadership position should be created only when there is a genuine organizational responsibility requiring it.
Structure follows the community.

Section 2 — Command Structure

Astral Concord recognizes the following organizational leadership positions:

Concord Commander…
The overall organizational leader and principal guardian of the Concord’s identity, direction, and Charter.

Executive Officer….
The second-in-command and principal deputy to the Concord Commander.

Concord Officer…
A trusted organization-level leader responsible for supporting administration, community management, operations, diplomacy, or other organizational needs.

Section Lead…
A member responsible for coordinating an established area of gameplay when sufficient activity exists to justify such a position.

Section 3 — Leadership Is Not Social Rank

Organizational authority does not make one member personally superior to another.
Officers are held to the same community standards as members and may be held to additional standards because of the trust placed in them.
Rank shall never be used to demand personal loyalty, personal service, ship purchases, financial contributions, or participation in unwanted activities.

Section 4 — Leadership Expansion

Astral Concord shall not maintain unnecessary vacant command positions simply in anticipation of future growth.
New Sections, Officers, and command responsibilities should be established when actual membership and activity justify them.
The Concord may therefore operate with a smaller leadership structure during periods of lower population.

Section 5 — Stepping Down

“Leadership is voluntary service.”

Any leader may request to step away from their position because of real life, burnout, changing interests, or other reasonable circumstances.
Stepping down from leadership shall not automatically be considered misconduct or abandonment of the community.
Former leaders may remain valued members of Astral Concord.

ARTICLE V — OPERATIONAL AUTHORITY

Organizational rank and operational authority are separate concepts.
During structured activities, temporary operational positions may include:

“Operation Commander”
“Fleet Commander”
“Ship Captain”
“Team Lead”

Additional roles may be created when required.
The person most appropriate for an operational position should be selected according to experience, knowledge, willingness, and mission requirements.
The Concord Commander does not automatically command every operation.

“Vessel Authority”

The designated captain commands their vessel during an operation.
Ownership of a vessel does not automatically determine who must command it.
A ship owner may voluntarily assign command of their vessel to another trusted member.
Organizational rank does not justify unnecessary interference with the designated captain’s operation of their vessel.

“Specialist Authority”

Astral Concord recognizes the value of expertise.
Commanders are expected to seriously consider the recommendations of members acting within their areas of specialization, including engineering, medical, navigation, logistics, intelligence, gunnery, or other technical roles.
“Rank shall not defeat competence.”

ARTICLE VI — OPERATIONAL PILLARS

Astral Concord recognizes four broad operational pillars.

“Security & Defense”
- Combat operations, fleet security, fighters, escort, ground combat, boarding, bounty operations, and protection of Concord personnel and assets.

“Industry & Logistics”
- Mining, salvage, cargo, engineering, refining, transportation, refueling, supply, and future manufacturing operations.

“Exploration & Intelligence”
- Scouting, reconnaissance, navigation, pathfinding, sensor operations, information gathering, and exploration.

“Medical & Support”
- Medical operations, search and rescue, recovery, personnel support, emergency response, and related support functions.
These pillars are not intended to become permanent barriers between members.
Members may participate in one, several, or all four according to their interests.

ARTICLE VII — ACTIVITIES & OPERATIONS

Astral Concord recognizes four general levels of organized gameplay.

“Free Play”
- Informal gameplay requiring no organizational planning.

“Rally”
- A voluntary activity initiated by any member inviting others to participate.

“Concord Operation — CONOP”
- A scheduled and coordinated activity using defined objectives and operational leadership.

“Major Operation”
- A larger activity requiring significant coordination, potentially involving multiple operational pillars, allied organizations, major fleet assets, or complex objectives.

Section 1 — Scaling

Astral Concord operations shall be designed to adapt to available participation whenever reasonably possible.
Operations scale to attendance. Attendance does not scale to operations.
Low attendance alone shall not define an operation as a failure.

Section 2 — Attendance

Participation in normal Astral Concord operations is voluntary.
The organization shall not maintain mandatory monthly attendance quotas as a standard requirement of membership.
Members who accept critical operational responsibilities are encouraged to communicate when circumstances prevent their participation.
Real life takes priority.

ARTICLE VIII — INDEPENDENCE & DIPLOMACY

Astral Concord determines its own allies, partners, contracts, and adversaries.
No external faction automatically receives the Concord’s loyalty or hostility solely because of lawful or criminal status.
The Concord may establish alliances, ceasefires, trade agreements, operational partnerships, and other diplomatic relationships.
Once the Concord formally gives its word, members representing the organization are expected to respect that commitment.
Friendship is earned. Hostility is earned. Neither is assumed.

ARTICLE IX — COMBAT & CRIMINAL GAMEPLAY

Astral Concord recognizes PvP and criminal gameplay as legitimate parts of the Star Citizen sandbox.
Members may participate in such gameplay within the Concord’s rules and diplomatic commitments.
However, Astral Concord shall distinguish between legitimate competitive or criminal gameplay and conduct primarily intended to harass or prevent others from enjoying the game.
Cheating, malicious exploitation, and deliberate griefing are prohibited while representing Astral Concord.
Grey does not mean lawless.
Independent does not mean without principles.

ARTICLE X — PERSONAL PROPERTY & FINANCES

Personal ships, equipment, currency, and other assets remain the property of their respective owners.
Membership does not give Astral Concord automatic claim over personal assets.
No member shall be required to purchase a ship, pledge additional money to Star Citizen, donate real-world currency, or make financial contributions as a condition of ordinary membership.
Financial support offered voluntarily shall not purchase organizational authority.
Your wallet does not determine your rank.

ARTICLE XI — COMMUNITY RESILIENCE

Astral Concord recognizes that Star Citizen’s development, technical condition, and player activity may fluctuate.
Periods of low activity shall not automatically trigger pressure campaigns, mandatory events, or unreasonable expectations upon leadership or members.
Members may participate in other games and community activities during periods when Star Citizen is less enjoyable.
Astral Concord is centered around Star Citizen.
The community, however, is larger than any single patch.

ARTICLE XII — GROWTH

Astral Concord shall pursue sustainable growth.
Membership totals alone shall not determine organizational success.
The Concord values active relationships, community health, and member enjoyment above inflated membership statistics.
Organizational complexity should increase only when increased activity requires it.
Astral Concord shall not attempt to imitate the bureaucracy of a massive organization while operating as a small community.
We shall grow into what we become.
We shall not pretend to already be there.

ARTICLE XIII — THE CORE STAR

The official symbol at the heart of Astral Concord is known as:
The Core Star
The Core Star represents our shared center.
Around it stand members of different professions, personalities, backgrounds, ships, and playstyles.
The symbol also represents the lessons from the community that preceded Astral Concord.
We respect that history without being bound to repeat it.
The past is remembered.
The future remains ours to build.

ARTICLE XIV — AMENDMENT OF THE CHARTER

Astral Concord is intended to evolve.
This Charter may therefore be amended as the organization grows, Star Citizen develops, or experience demonstrates that a policy no longer serves the community.
Major amendments should be discussed openly with relevant leadership and, whenever practical, the wider membership before adoption.
Changes should preserve the Charter’s fundamental purpose:
A sustainable organization built around its people.
No rule should be preserved merely because:
“That’s how we’ve always done it.”

ARTICLE XV — THE CONCORD STANDARD

Astral Concord does not promise to become the largest organization in the ’verse.
We do not measure ourselves by how many names appear on a roster.
We measure ourselves by whether people enjoy being here.
Whether three pilots answer a Rally or fifty citizens assemble for a Major Operation, the principle remains the same:
We come together voluntarily.
We contribute what we can.
We respect what others bring.
We adapt when circumstances change.
We stand beside our people when it matters.
And beneath the Core Star, we remember the principle upon which this Concord was founded:
