History
Brokeback Industries began in 2938 when veteran hauler Brock “Big Rig” Backlund and engineer Marcus Steel found themselves stranded together on a remote moon with a damaged thruster, limited supplies, and an unusually long night ahead of them.
Working shoulder-to-shoulder in the cramped machinery bay, the two men discovered that they shared more than a talent for handling oversized equipment. By dawn, the thruster was operational, the cargo was secured, and the foundation of a new industrial empire had been laid.
Their first contract involved hauling ore through a narrow jump corridor that most pilots considered too dangerous to penetrate. Brock and Marcus pushed through anyway, proving that careful alignment, steady hands, and sufficient thrust could overcome almost any obstacle.
From these humble beginnings, Brokeback Industries expanded into mining, freight, salvage, security, exploration, and deep-space resource extraction. The company earned a reputation for taking the hardest jobs, operating in the tightest spaces, and never pulling out before the mission was complete.
Today, Brokeback Industries operates across the Stanton system and beyond. Its crews remain united by the same principle that guided its founders:

Manifesto
We are Brokeback Industries.
We are miners, haulers, engineers, salvagers, explorers, fighters, and men who are not afraid to get close to one another when the situation demands it.
We believe that no shaft is too deep, no load is too heavy, and no docking maneuver is too delicate for a disciplined crew.
We enter dangerous territory with confidence. We handle powerful machinery with respect. We stand behind our partners, protect their assets, and provide support whenever things become rough.
We do not judge a crewman by the size of his ship, but by how effectively he uses it.
We believe in firm leadership, open communication, and flexible operating positions. Every member must be prepared to take the lead, follow from behind, or switch roles when the mission requires it.
We finish what we start.
We never abandon a brother in the field.
We never leave valuable cargo unattended.
And we never allow fear, hesitation, or poorly lubricated landing gear to prevent us from achieving full operational readiness.

Charter
Article I — Purpose
Brokeback Industries exists to pursue profit, adventure, brotherhood, and complete industrial domination throughout the known universe.
The corporation shall conduct lawful and occasionally questionable operations involving:
Mining and resource extraction
Freight and heavy hauling
Salvage and recovery
Exploration and reconnaissance
Escort and security services
Search-and-rescue operations
Strategic insertion into hostile environments
Article II — Membership
Membership is open to all citizens who demonstrate loyalty, competence, maturity, and a willingness to work closely with other members.
No applicant shall be rejected because of ship size, preferred role, experience level, or docking technique.
New members may begin at the bottom but will be given every opportunity to work their way up.
Article III — Conduct
Members of Brokeback Industries shall:
Not Treat fellow members with dignity and respect.
Follow lawful orders issued by corporate leadership.
Protect corporate personnel, vessels, and cargo.
Maintain their equipment in a clean, functional, and properly serviced condition.
Ask permission before entering another member’s hangar.
Avoid unnecessary friendly fire, premature discharge, and reckless use of torpedoes.
Remain calm when operating under pressure or when surrounded by hostile men.
Harassment, discrimination, griefing, theft from fellow members, and unauthorized handling of another member’s package are strictly prohibited.
Article IV — Leadership
Leadership shall be based on competence, reliability, and the ability to command respect from a room full of heavily armed men.
Corporate officers are expected to provide firm direction while remaining receptive to input from below.
No leader is above accountability, and no member is beneath recognition.
Article V — Operations
All major operations shall emphasize planning, coordination, and mutual support.
Before entering a dangerous area, members shall confirm:
The route is clear.
The equipment is ready.
The crew knows its position.
Everyone understands the safe word.
Once committed, the corporation shall apply maximum effort until the objective has been secured, extracted, or thoroughly explored.
Article VI — Brotherhood
Brokeback Industries is more than a corporation. It is a brotherhood forged through long voyages, hard labor, shared danger, and the occasional accidental bed assignment aboard a cramped ship.
We stand together when markets collapse.
We stand together when shields fail.
We stand together when the engines overheat and the cockpit begins to smell unusual.
