For solo pilots who sometimes are looking for a little assistance without obligations. A collection of independent contractors ocassionally teaming up for big salvage ops, high-value cargo runs, group mining, exploration, and security or medical support—always for a fair cut, of course.

History

Founded in 2953 and aged like a fine bottle of wine. Tthe ICC is a quiet presence in the ’verse, created out of necessity rather than hierarchy. As engineering systems grow more complex and missions become riskier, even the most skilled solo pilots found that sometimes freedom needs support.

It began with a handful of independent contractors helping each other in simple ways: a repair assist in deep space, a quick med response, an escort for a high value cargo run. No politics, no commitments, just smart cooperation when needed.

From these early connections, the idea grew. A coalition for solo pilots, built on temporary collaboration and mutual respect, with every participant free to come and go as they please.

Today, the* Independent Contractors Coalition* operates through Starman’s Retreat Discord Server, creating a space where lone wolves can call for backup, form temporary mission teams, or lend a hand to fellow pilots.

We don’t micromanage, we don’t put you on a leash, and we live by one golden rule: don’t kill or loot your fellow coalition members. Out here, trust is our most valuable cargo.

Manifesto

I. Who We Are

We are the unbound, the unregistered, the unseen gears in the machine. The Independent Contractors Coalition (ICC) is not an org. It is a movement. A banner under which solo pilots, freelancers, and lone wolves gather when the stakes rise, but disband just as quickly when the mission is done.

We believe in freedom above rank. Profit above politics. Real teamwork above empty titles.

The ‘verse is changing. Power systems are glitching, engineering demands precision, and danger lurks behind every jump point. In this new era of attrition and complexity, independence does not mean isolation. You deserve backup on your terms, not someone else’s.

II. Our Mission

To empower solo operators with tactical teamwork, support for high risk operations, and a network that rewards cooperation without sacrificing autonomy.

  • Form fast, purpose driven coalitions for missions requiring extra hands, firepower, or expertise.
  • Deliver support where contracts demand: engineering, medical, salvage, security, or cargo.
  • Enable profit sharing without entanglement: share spoils fairly, then go your separate ways.
  • We exist to make every independent pilot more powerful, not to control your ships or dictate your path.

III. Code of Conduct

We fly under a few simple rules:

  • Freedom First: You choose your missions, your contracts, and your departures, always.
  • Honor the Deal: If credits are agreed upon, credits flow. No drama. No betrayal.
  • Support the Solo: Offer clarity when posting missions. Respect each other’s time and skill.
  • Leave No One Behind: If you take a crew into the black, you bring them back or send for help.
  • Respect the Comms: Keep channels clear. Mark your Comms station when in use. Use text if needed. (Discord Server)
You may not answer to us, but you stand with us against chaos and dishonor.

IV. What We Are Not

  • We are not a ranked, role driven org.
  • We are not a place for power tripping leaders.
  • We are not a prison of loyalty oaths or mandatory attendance.
  • We are not a static banner you wear. We are a flight path you choose.

V. Why We Exist Now

Engineering gameplay is here. Repairs, power reroutes, and tactical overlays will make solo work harder. More dangers are rising: Vanduul raids, Nine Tails blockades, faction wars. In the face of complexity, the universe still favors the bold and the connected.

The ICC answers that need, not with bureaucracy, but with crowdsourced power and skilled self reliance.

You bring your ship. We bring the signal. Together, we cash the contract.

VI. The Call to All Drifters

This is your invitation to something new.

Fly solo. But never fly unprepared.

Join the ICC. Make your credits. Keep your freedom.

Independent Contractors Coalition (ICC) Contract by contract, we build our own way across the stars.
