History

// BEGIN TRANSMISSION //

The Darkhaul Union traces its roots to 2942, born in the gritty orbit of Crusader’s Yela asteroid belt. A loose band of ex-Hurston Dynamics miners, tired of corporate quotas, teamed up with outlawed mercs fleeing Stanton’s tightening UEE grip. Led by ex-rigger Kael “Dust” Voren, they salvaged a derelict Prospector and began prying quantanium from Yela’s rocks, selling it through back channels to ArcCorp fixers. Profit was slim, but freedom was worth it.

By 2945, Darkhaul had grown into a shadow outfit, dodging Advocacy patrols and rival gangs like the Nine Tails. They carved a rep hauling rare ores from Pyro’s unclaimed fields, using patched-up Vanguards to fend off raiders. A pivotal moment came in 2947 when they ambushed a Dusters convoy muscling in on their turf, cementing their name as scrappy survivors. Word spread: if you needed discreet muscle or a quiet haul, Darkhaul delivered.

The Union stayed mobile, anchoring in hidden depots like Grim HEX’s underbelly or abandoned rigs in Lyria’s ice caves. By 2950, they’d mastered the art of ghosting UEE scanners, running jobs for shady traders and rogue prospectors alike. Never tied to one system, they drift between Stanton and Pyro, loyal only to credits and crew. Today, Darkhaul Union thrives as a whisper in the ‘verse—a crew of misfits who mine, fight, and fade into the black, all while keeping the law at arm’s length.

Manifesto

// BEGIN TRANSMISSION //

The Darkhaul Union is a tight-knit crew of pragmatic operators thriving in the shadowed fringes of the ‘verse. Inspired by the rogue spirit of Firefly, we’re a band of miners, mercenaries, and profiteers who prioritize credits over glory and independence over law. Our motto: “Haul it, guard it, cash it—quietly.” Specializing in mining high-value ore from uncharted asteroid fields and running discreet mercenary gigs, we’ve carved a niche as the go-to outfit for jobs that need doing off the UEE’s radar.

Our fleet is lean and mean—Prospectors and Moles rip resources from the void, while Vanguards and Cutlasses stand ready to fend off pirates or nosy authorities. We’re not above a little smuggling if the pay’s right, but we keep it low-key; no flashy ops, no loudmouths. The Union’s strength lies in its adaptability—whether it’s cracking a rock for profit or cracking a skull for survival, we get it done.

Led by a council of seasoned haulers and guns-for-hire, Darkhaul Union values loyalty, competence, and a sharp eye for opportunity. Our bases—hidden depots and mobile rigs—dot the edges of civilized space, offering safe havens for crew and cargo alike. We don’t seek fame or feuds; we’re ghosts in the black, chasing the next payday. For those who can handle the grind and keep their mouths shut, Darkhaul Union offers a cut of the take and a crew that’s got your back. Join us, and profit in the shadows.

Charter

Darkhaul Union Charter
Established 2942, Yela Orbit, Stanton System

Preamble:
We, the free operators of the ‘verse, reject the chains of UEE oversight and corporate greed. In the shadows of Stanton and beyond, we forge our own path—mining the void, guarding our own, and cashing in where others fear to tread. This is the creed of the Darkhaul Union.

Article I: Purpose
Darkhaul Union exists to secure profit and liberty through mining, mercenary work, and discreet trade. From the asteroid belts of Crusader to the wilds of Pyro, we claim what’s ours and defend it—law be damned.

Article II: Operations

  1. Mining: Extract resources from uncharted or contested zones; priority is high-value hauls like quantanium.
  2. Defense: Protect crew and cargo with force—Vanguards and Cutlasses stand ready.
  3. Trade: Move goods through back channels; avoid UEE tariffs and Advocacy eyes.
  4. Stealth: Stay ghosts in the black—no trails, no boasts.

Article III: Membership
Joining requires grit, skill, and silence. Recruits swear loyalty to the Union, not the UEE or corps like Hurston Dynamics. Betrayal earns exile—or worse.

Article IV: Governance
A council of veteran haulers and guns-for-hire steers the Union. Decisions favor survival and credits, not politics.

Article V: Code
  • Crew before self.
  • Profit over pride.
  • Law’s reach ends where our hulls begin.
