Day One Citizen is a plain-English guide for people who have never played Star Citizen. This org is its home on the official game site.

It’s for players in their first days and weeks. Ask anything, however basic. Veterans who like helping new players are welcome too.

Think of this org as an on-ramp. Join on day one, learn the basics, and find out what kind of player you want to be.

Star Citizen has thousands of player orgs. Some focus on mining, some on cargo, combat, exploration or rescue work. Once you’re up to speed, you’re free to join any of them. Membership here isn’t exclusive, so you never have to leave to join another org.

How do I start playing Star Citizen?

Create a free account on the game’s official site, then buy a game package to play. The step-by-step guide walks you through each part.

What is the Star Citizen referral code?

A referral code is a code from an existing player that you enter when you sign up. This org’s code is STAR-GCQJ-N6NC. It gives your new account 50,000 UEC, the in-game currency.

Do I have to buy anything to get the bonus?

No. The 50,000 UEC is added when you create the account with the code. You do need a game package to actually play and spend it.

I forgot the code when I signed up. Is it too late?

You have 24 hours after creating your account to add it yourself in your account settings. After that, it can’t be added.

Which game package should I buy?

There’s only one now: the First Flight Pack. It includes the game and the Aurora Mk II, a small all-round starter ship. You also get thirty days of loaner access to three more starter ships: the Drake Golem for mining, the MISC Fortune for salvage, and the Crusader Intrepid for cargo hauling. What’s in the pack.

Can I try Star Citizen for free first?

Yes, during a Free Fly event. These are limited windows when anyone with an account can play without buying. Next Free Fly dates.

Do I have to spend real money on ships?

No. Every new account starts with a ship from its game package. You can buy more ships in the game with money you earn by playing. How ships work.

Will it run on my PC?

Star Citizen is PC only and needs a fairly strong computer. Check the system requirements before you buy.
