“Blue Sky it for me.”

History

BUSINESS DAILYINTERVIEW, CITIZEN VIRGIL DEPKO, 2933 – Excerpt
VIRGIL: … “After ETS I stepped off on Selene with nothing. No prospects or savings. I started out all over again at T-L, loading crates. It wasn’t bad, but I kicked myself for getting out.” …

VIRGIL: … “The economy got rough after a couple years, with the Vanduul presence. T-L was the only shipping service in the region that didn’t bug out, so they had a total monopoly. At first it was great, pay raises and better hours, but over the next year our management got greedy; price-gouging, refusing to move until they had a full hold, sometimes forcing people to wait for weeks. And it wasn’t just the customers getting screwed. A couple employees got ‘let go’ after questioning company policy.” …

VIRGIL: … “All I wanted was to get off of Selene, just like everybody else. But, I actually stood a chance. I saved my money, built good credit, cashed in a favor—”
INTERVIEWER: “A favor?”
VIRGIL: “Don’t worry about it.” Virgil paused. “Anyway, I’d been talking with one of my peers, you know, dreaming of greener pastures. We got the idea to go to the used ship lot after work. I didn’t think he was serious, but Sic’ actually ended up coming with me.” …

VIRGIL: … “The last boat on the lot was a beaten-up first-model Freelancer, rattle-canned completely sky blue. The dealer assured us that she’d fly with a little work, and I thought about it for a long time, just staring. He must have known I’d buy it. The way he just smiled and excused himself for a moment… and, in that moment, I realized how well I’d learned the business from the inside. What they did well, what they didn’t, what I could do better… I knew I could do some good with that sky blue piece of shit, so I signed the loan.” …

PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR’S RECORDINTERVIEW, CIVILIAN SICTITO NaN, 2949 – Excerpt
INVESTIGATOR: … “There has to be more you can tell me.”
SICTITO: “I told you everything I know. Him, and half of the credits, gone overnight.”
INVESTIGATOR: “Alright. Well, a sky blue Freelancer shouldn’t be too hard to track down.” …

Manifesto

WHO WE ARE
Blue Sky Enterprises isn’t some bulk transport corporation that tosses everything into crates and slaps them onto an exposed Hull. As a smaller, specialized operation, we cater to a more discriminating clientele who have specific requirements and desires.

WHAT WE OFFER
Our mission is to provide hassle-free, dependable service with high standards of operation. Our reputation is built upon customer satisfaction, completing not only the jobs others won’t do, but the jobs they can’t. At Blue Sky Enterprises, reputation is everything.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Blue Sky Enterprises is a small organization of dedicated professionals who do more than just haul cargo. Rather than accept or deny pieces of paper, we hire on a personal level. Our employees aren’t just pilots to us, they’re family. Employment is by invitation only.

SUBCONTRACTING
In the case that Blue Sky Enterprises is ill-equipped to handle a mission, even if it’s appropriate to our scope and ethos, we can levy our network of highly trusted contacts to ensure that your objectives are met with satisfaction.

FLEET
Anvil Picses C8R – ‘STRETCHER’. OPERATIONAL.
Though unconventional, this little shuttle is what we typically use to get our feet from Point A to Point B. We operate even in unforgiving or lawless sectors, and you never know when immediate medical aid may need to be rendered. That said, we’re also no strangers to responding to an occasional rescue beacon.

MISC Freelancer – ‘SKY’. STOLEN.
The vessel that started it all for us. Outfitted for stealth, we typically utilize Sky for smaller or more discerning jobs. Its location, however, is currently unknown. If you are apprised of Virgil Depko’s whereabouts, contact UEE law enforcement immediately. We are offering a substantial UEC reward for information that results in the return of our property.

Drake Caterpillar – ‘BAD KARMA’. OPERATIONAL.
Our main workhorse. The Caterpillar’s profile, interior cargo hold, and feature set lend to its versatility, allowing us to accomplish logistical tasks in places and in ways that other vessels don’t.

RSI Perseus – ‘IRON FIST’. OPERATIONAL.
It’s long been said that ‘the best defense is a good offense’. This gunship and its sister accompany our flagship at twelve-o-clock low and six-o-clock high to ensure that the company’s interests, and its clients, remain guarded against threats from any angle. Nomatter what reason you find yourself in our company, you’ll be protected for the duration.

Aegis Hammerhead – ‘GOOD RELATIONS’. OPERATIONAL.
In the instance that a combat assistance beacon crosses our screens, this gunship may break away from our flagship and be dispatched.

Drake Kraken – ‘UNORTHODOX’. OPERATIONAL.
Blue Sky Enterprises’ beating heart. Kept in its standard configuration, the Kraken’s gargantuan cargo hold allows us to be an incredible asset in logistical operations, mining operations, rearm and refuel operations, and much more. The Unorthodox plays host for all of our work, and is often regarded as a refuge when our endeavors bring us to unkind space.
