“We are the Drakkarians. To the UEE, we are ghosts. To our Kin, we are the Vardreki. The Hall is our Refuge, the Asrúdr is our skin. We are the Shield of the Hird and the Sword of Retribution.”

History

  • THE SOVEREIGNTY: THE REALM OF ASR-VARÐ
Long before the UEE mapped the western fringes and classified the sector as “Vanguard,” it was Asr-VarÐ the sovereign territory of the Drakkarians. From the mountain-throne of Valdr-Hall, the High King ruled a nation of millions. His authority was projected through the Jarls, who governed the planetary provinces, and the Thanes the elite warrior-nobility who commanded the citadels and led the fleets of the Realm.
The Drakkarians were a striking and formidable people, shaped by a culture that valued martial prowess above all else. They were recognizable by their broad, powerful proportions a physique forged by combat training in the crushing gravity of their home world. They carried the ancestral colors: hair ranging from Platinum-Silver to Dark Gold, and eyes of piercing Emerald, Steely Grey, or Cold Blue. With pale, stone-like complexions, they were a Martial Elite, answering only to the High Throne and the strength of the Asrúdr the legendary “Divine Steel.” We were a Nation of Drakkars, masters of heavy-assault hulls and high-speed boarding warfare.
  • THE ERASURE: THE SIEGE AND THE ASH (2712)
In 2712, the world of Valdr-Hall was executed. A massive Vanduul Battle-Group, led by a Kingship and a screen of destroyers, entered the system to delete the Drakkarian threat. The High King did not hide; he led the final stand on the surface of Valdr-Hall, fighting until the atmosphere itself ignited. He went down with his sword in his hand, buying the seconds needed for the Last Drakkars to breach the atmosphere and preserve the bloodline.
The end came through systematic kinetic bombardment. As the Vanduul fleet unleashed slugs to pound our forests and cities into Ash, a distress pulse was sent to the UEE 2nd Fleet. The Empire received the signal and, by order of the Messer Admiralty, they closed the channel. They stood by and watched a King fall and a world be broken into shattered ruins, hoping to scavenge our steel once the “sovereign nuisance” was erased.
  • THE INVARIANT STEEL
The only physical memory of the Realm is the Asrúdr. To this day, the UEE cannot replicate its properties, nor can they explain the resilience of the Drakkarian war-skin. It remains an enigma to Imperial science a “Ghost-Steel” that refuses to be mastered by outsiders. To a Drakkarian, the armor is not equipment; it is a sacred inheritance, a piece of the mother-world that can never be truly taken.
  • THE REMNANT: GHOSTS OF THE VOID (2956)
The Drakkarians are no longer an empire, but a Lethal Handful. Operating as the Ghosts of the Void, we are the formidable warriors encountered in the lawless dark. We live as Sovereign Contractors Bounty Hunters and Mercenaries taking the Empire’s credits to fuel our survival. Our stronghold remains hidden in the deep-black, where the Empire’s light cannot reach and where the Vanduul find only storms.
Led by High Jarl Rorik Grimnar, the descendant of the High King’s line, we are a people who refused to stay buried. We do not claim a throne; we claim a reckoning. We are reclaiming our stolen steel, hunting the Vanduul, and delivering the final verdict THRUN-EYÐA to an Empire that watched our world die. We take their gold today to forge the fleet of tomorrow. One day, the shadows will recede, the ash will be swept away, and the Drakkarian banners will fly once more over the mountain-throne of Valdr-Hall. The Realm will be reclaimed.

Manifesto

THE SOVEREIGN CONTRACT
We are the ashen ghosts of a murdered realm. We do not recognize the borders of the UEE, nor do we answer to the laws of the Soft-hearted. We operate as a Sovereign Hird in the lawless dark, taking the credits of the Verse to fuel our survival and our vengeance. We do not bargain for our existence. We do not beg for our place in the stars. We are the Vardreki—the Guardian Dragons of the Void. Our presence is the law; our word is the Iron.

THE VOID-HUNT (EYÐU-VEIÐR)

“We are the Drakkarians. We hunt as Vardreki. No distance is too great, no armor too thick.”
  • THE HUNTER’S WORD: We do not sign papers; our word is Iron. Once a Drakkarian accepts a mark, the hunt is a sacred law. We do not look back, and we do not bargain. Whether the target is delivered in Chains or Dust, the debt will be collected. To give our word is to declare the target already caught—they simply do not know it yet.
  • THE WISE TONGUE: We do not waste breath on empty boasts. One does not speak unless one knows the truth. We listen to the whispers in the dark, for a warrior who speaks too soon reveals his own throat.
  • THE STRIDE OF FATE: We do not fear the end, for our day is already carved in the Ash. We scan, we wait, and we circle our prey. When the Drakkarian strikes, the fate is already sealed.
  • THE BREACH: We are the masters of the boarding strike. Whether you hide behind a hull or a fortress, we will find the way in.

THE PATH OF THE FOUNDLING

The Universe is a cold place for those who walk alone. The Drakkarian Hird offers a hearth for the abandoned and a purpose for the betrayed.
  • THE SPIRIT OF A WARRIOR: We do not care for your past or your birth. If you have the spirit of a warrior and the discipline of the blade, you have a place at our fire.
  • THE VOW: By swearing the Six Laga, you receive the Asrúdr armor and a new name among the stars. You are no longer a wanderer; you are Kin. To honor the Hird is to honor the blood of our ancestors as if it were your own
  • THE HOARD: We look after our own. A portion of every contract feeds the Hird. No Drakkarian starves while the Hird feasts.
