We are the Duskveil Marauders — independent frontier guardians forged by Talon Kade. We protect the forgotten, secure trade routes, hunt the corrupt, and stand ready against existential threats. No bureaucracy. No corporate chains. Only the Code.
During the Second Tevarin War (2603–2610), Captain Elias “Talon” Kade commanded the UEE Navy’s 112th Strike Squadron. Renowned for their daring defense of trade outposts in the Elysium system, Kade and his pilots became frontier legends for their surgical strikes and fierce protection of civilian haulers carrying vital food, medicine, and supplies through Tevarin assault corridors.
The war’s end revealed the rot within the UEE: vast corporate empires like Hurston Dynamics and ArcCorp hoarded wealth while bureaucratic neglect left border systems such as Vega, Virgil, and Pyro vulnerable to pirates and Vanduul raids. Disillusioned, Kade resigned his commission in 2612. Drawing inspiration from three historic texts—Black Powder Red Earth, the 18th-century Rogers’ Rangers Standing Orders, and the records of Merrill’s Marauders—he forged a new path. Rejecting both corporate greed and UEE overreach, he vowed to protect the vulnerable by securing trade routes, sustaining frontier worlds through hunting and resource gathering, and standing ready to aid the Navy against existential threats.
Kade rallied veterans, independent pilots, and rogue traders to found the Bladeveil Company, a private military company that blended elite combat, convoy escort, and frontier survival. Guided by a hybrid code—BPR’s loyalty and moral precision, Rogers’ Rangers’ stealth and adaptability, and Merrill’s Marauders’ relentless endurance—the Company carved out a reputation as unseen guardians. They escorted high-risk convoys through Pyro’s lawless wastes, hunted slavers in Nyx, delivered critical supplies to struggling colonies, and roamed planetary surfaces as hunters, harvesting resources to bolster frontier communities. Their emblem, a crimson blade wrapped in a starry veil, symbolized their role as silent protectors. Unlike profit-driven corporate PMCs, they prioritized low-margin humanitarian hauls and community support, funding operations through bounties on pirates and corrupt enforcers.
In 2940, the Company suffered near annihilation in the Vega system. While escorting a medical convoy to Vega II, they were ambushed by a Vanduul warband. Captain Kade led a desperate rearguard action, his signature “blade” strikes buying the convoy time to escape. He and most of his pilots perished in the fight. The few survivors limped back to Stanton.
In 2945, those remnants—hardened haulers, gunners, infiltrators, and hunters—reformed on the storm-lashed moon of Cellin in the Crusader system. They took the name Duskveil Marauders, honoring their shadowy precision (“Duskveil”) and guerrilla spirit (“Marauders”) while carrying forward Talon Kade’s legacy.
Today, the Duskveil Marauders recruit battle-tested ex-soldiers, skilled haulers, shadow operatives, and wilderness hunters. They live by Talon’s Veil, a creed etched into every ship:
Bound by this code, the Marauders conduct high-risk PMC operations across Pyro, Stanton, and Nyx. They specialize in bounty hunting against pirates and slavers, surgical strikes on outlaw strongholds, and the protection of vital cargo—medical supplies, equipment, and food—for frontier outposts. When needed, they turn hunter on planetary surfaces, tracking game and harvesting rare resources to sustain isolated communities. They also execute covert operations: sabotaging pirate blockades and exposing corporate corruption. Though they distrust UEE bureaucracy and megacorp power, they remain true to Kade’s vow—ready to stand with the Navy when Vanduul or other existential threats endanger UEE systems.
We are the Duskveil Marauders — forged in the fires of forgotten frontiers and born from the vision of Captain Elias “Talon” Kade. We stand as guardians of the weak, hunters in the wild, and shadows in the void.
The UEE’s bloated bureaucracy and corporate overlords — ArcCorp, Hurston Dynamics, and their kind — have abandoned the galaxy’s edge. Systems like Pyro, Stanton, and Nyx are left to bleed under pirate blades and Vanduul claws while the powerful grow richer. We refuse to accept this fate.Guided by Talon’s Veil, our unbreakable creed:
We secure vital trade routes, delivering medicine, food, and supplies to isolated outposts the UEE has forgotten. We hunt game and harvest resources on untamed worlds to sustain frontier communities. We deliver precise justice — hunting slavers, claiming bounties on pirates, and striking corrupt strongholds that choke free trade.
We are not corporate mercenaries, nor UEE puppets. We answer to no Senate, no boardroom, and no flag but our own. Yet when the Vanduul or any existential threat descends upon UEE space, we will fly beside the Navy — not as subordinates, but as free allies — because some darkness must be met with steel, regardless of politics.
From veteran Commanders to bold Initiates, we thrive in chaos. We strike when provoked, endure every trial the stars throw at us, and protect those the Empire leaves behind. If you reject tyranny, value freedom, and refuse to bow to the corrupt — join the abyss.
Protect. Hunt. Endure.
