primus surgere, ultimus cadere
The United Empire of Earth (UEE) maintains a distinct roster of elite units; these select operators conduct high risk missions that necessitate peerless skill and anonymity. Prior to the Vanduul crisis, the UEE’s special forces were disjointed and separated into distinct, independent cells. After the initial Vanduul invasion, per [UEE Armed Forces Code; Article 5, Title 9, Subtitle: GENERAL MILITARY (§ 800 – 905)], all special operations forces of the UEE were consolidated into the UEE Tactical Operations group. UEE TacOPs retained Special Actor status [Granted in 2543 during the first Tevarin War] to bypass bureaucratic hindrance and retain rapid response capability. UEE TacOps was a classified asset under direct control of the UEE Naval High Command and overseen by Admiral REDACTED.
After the UEE Navy was defeated at the Battle of Orion in 2712, UEE TacOPs began preparing in secret to enact Last Stand protocols in the vulnerable Tiber, Virgil, Vega and Caliban systems to allow UEE military and civilians assets to be withdrawn. For this purpose, UEE TacOps created E-Company (6 Divisions) and tasked them to slow the Vanduul advance through UEE territory by any means necessary. Comprised of veteran operators and pilots, E-Company was objectively successful in its mission but at great cost. By the time Caliban was lost, E-Company had suffered massive casualties and only the 1st Division remained combat ready. The sacrifices of these brave men and women would not be released into public record until 2946 when Operation Mandrake declassified the actions of the UEE TacOps group after E-Company, 1st Division (E1D) spearheaded the Battle of Oberon.
In March of 2946, when the UEE made its first public offensive against the Vanduul in the Battle of Oberon, E1D was attached to the 2nd Fleet as an advanced force. E1D was dispatched by Admiral Bishop, as the UEE Naval force with the most extensive combat experience against Vanduul, to sweep the Oberon system after a plausible threat was detected. Though only a small strike team, E1D was able to engage and entrap the Vanduul clan fleet. At the order of Commander REDACTED, a Javelin modified with REDACTED, now famously known as the UEES Beholder, interdicted three Vanduul kingships and engaged them in a frantic battle. The battle was selected to take place in an asteroid field where the massive scale of the Vanduul flagships would prove disadvantageous. Despite suffering heavy losses, the crew of the Beholder were able to cripple the propulsion system of one of the Vanduul super-capital ships and opted to close distance to deploy a battalion of shock troopers direct to the bridge of another. Despite successfully delivering the boarding party, the Javelin would take critical damage while executing the maneuver. When the UEES Beholder was abandoned, Chief Petty Officer REDACTED stayed behind to ensure the quantum entanglement device (QED) stayed active, thereby trapping the Vanduul fleet. The CPO would be posthumously recognized by the Imperator’s Office for uncommon valor and distinguished service.
The gambit of Commander REDACTED proved successful as the UEE 2nd Fleet were able to mobilize to the Oberon system in time and engage the now-hindered Vanduul forces. The 65th Battlegroup arrived with the UEES Retribution superdreadnought and blocked the Vanduul’s escape. When the Vanduul abandoned their fleet and began to descend upon Uriel, they were intercepted by E1D gunship teams and routed in the fierce fighting that followed. Despite suffering heavy losses, yet again, E1D was credited with saving the lives of millions of Oberon refugees and re-opening the system to the UEE so relief efforts and re-militarization could begin. The valiant efforts of E1D during Operation Mandrake would see their service records partially declassified for public recognition. E1D’s activity outside of the Vanduul conflicts and their current operations remain Top Secret by order of the UEE Naval High Command.
Soon after, in 2947, E-Company, 1st Division was rebranded by the UEE as the Eidola, in honor of their selfless sacrifice and triumph against insurmountable odds. Generations of fierce fighting across countless theaters of war has forged each eidolon, members of Eidola, into paragons of their craft. The service records of these inimitable pilots and indomitable shock troopers are legendary. Rumors began to circulate on Spectrum that rogue eidolon have formed a PMC and begun taking on private contracts. The rumor was validated when footage of a Tevarin pirate attack on a mining outpost in the Stanton system emerged showing an Aegis Redeemer bearing the E1D insignia roaring into combat against the aggressors. The UEE has declined to comment on any of Eidola’s rumored mercenary activities, offering only that Eidola is still a military entity.
The eidolon are highly trained specialists and operatives, handpicked from elite combat, intelligence, and naval units throughout the United Empire of Earth’s armed forces. Each Eidola recruit, aspiring to earn their place among the eidolon, is forged into a paragon of their craft. Eidola boasts indomitable shock troopers, peerless pilots, and unrivaled support staff.
Combat
Intelligence
Each individual eidolon is the epitome of their relative skill set. To be invited to join the ranks of the Eidola is a high honor that is awarded only to elite operators whom have proven their ability to be beyond contestation. Per Admiral REDACTED of the UEE Naval High Command, common scouting strategies for the organization include competitive tournaments. There are two combat certifications that must be earned before an individual may be considered for induction into Eidola:
Fighter Ace Certification
Prospective aviators are rumored to be subjected to brutal, and often lethal, competitions where only the victorious emerge as Eidola. Pilots must develop mastery over aerial combat before they will be eligible to earn Fighter Ace certification. Throughout the training program, pilots will be routinely evaluated in the following categories of flight skills:
Shock Trooper Certification
Prospective operators are culled from live-fire, competitive exercises where only a true eidolon can survive. Infantry must develop mastery over firearms combat, unit tactics, emergency medicine and armored warfare before they will be eligible to earn Shock Trooper certification. Throughout the training program, infantry will be routinely evaluated in the following categories of skills:
Phantom Fleet
All Eidola members matriculate from the Phantom Fleet community. If you are interested in earning your spot among the Eidolon, you can begin by joining the Phantom Fleet discord.
The Eidola are the finest soldiers of the United Empire of Earth; each eidolon has earned their place among their comrades through feats of heroism and skill in combat. To be presented with an invitation to Eidola is a high honor and entrance shall be granted only upon meeting strict criteria. This organization shall observe a code of meritocracy and endeavor to preserve a pristine quality of members. The membership list of Eidola shall be redacted and available only to other members of the organization.
It is the role of the Eidola administration [Commander, Captain] to preserve the code of meritocracy throughout organization and to curate membership to preserve peerless talent.
Warrant Officers are to supervise and perform any and all duties necessary for Eidola and delegate tasks appropriately to a Sergeant responsible for that sector of tasks.
Warrant Officers and Sergeants are to perform their delegated responsibilities [Quartermaster, Instructor, Analyst] in a timely and professional manner and ensure their sector of responsibilities are not neglected. Warrant Officers and Sergeants shall heed directives from superior administrators.
All administration is to preserve and curate the appropriate ranking, and role system as described:
Representatives of partnered organizations [Liaisons] are to conduct themselves with honor and respect towards eidolon. Breach of courtesy may result in revocation of access to Eidola.
Eidolon are to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects well upon the organization; high performance capability should be routinely maintained.
To earn admittance to Eidola, a prospective inductee must demonstrate exceptional skill in both aerial and ground combat. Eidolon instructors will foster your growth at every step; you will be provided training sessions with experts in each respective field of combat. There are two certifications (Fighter Ace & Shock Trooper) to be earned prior to being issued a formal invitation into Eidola: the certification process for candidates will begin once they have demonstrated mastery in the fundamentals of combat for each of the respective disciplines.
All eidolon must keep their membership status with the organization set to Redacted at all times. Identities of all UEE TacOps members are protected under UEE Armed Forces Code; Article 19, Title 4, Subtitle: SPECIAL FORCES (§ 015 – 082)].
The right to morality choice shall not be infringed; administration cannot affect limitations on the actions of members in regards to criminal or lawful playstyles. Members of Eidola need only meet the entry criteria per the code of meritocracy and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects well upon the organization.
All eidolon will adhere to the following codes of conduct at penalty of expulsion:
