History

Our History

Founding (2953)

Echelon Defense Solutions was founded in 2953 by a diverse group of independent contractors, bounty hunters, security specialists, and veterans from all walks of life. EDS recognized the growing instability across the United Earth Empire (UEE) as corporate security is stretched too thin, and the UEE is occupied with the Vanduul threat.

Unlike typical mercenary groups driven solely by profit, Echelon was built on principles of discipline, trust, and tactical excellence. From the start, it positioned itself as a reliable, lawful alternative: a structured organization dedicated to stabilizing dangerous frontiers and protecting those who couldn’t protect themselves.

Early Operations & Proven Reputation (2953–2954)

In its formative years, Echelon quickly earned its stripes through high-stakes contracts in the Stanton system. Members played key roles in repelling the Nine Tails invasion of Orison’s platforms during repeated Siege events, coordinating ground assaults and restoring order for Crusaders’ people alongside other brave fighters.

As threats evolved, Echelon forces investigated disturbing reports of unethical experimentation by Dr. Logan Jorrit at abandoned Associated Sciences & Development (ASD) facilities. These operations uncovered horrific evidence of illegal human testing, solidifying the org’s commitment to justice beyond mere credits.

The organization also responded to emerging crises, including defensive actions against Xenothreat incursions and the submission of harmful drugs to local security during volatile Jumptown conflicts. These early successes built a reputation for community, coordination, and integrity amid chaos.

Growth & Adaptation (2954–2955)

As Star Citizen’s ‘verse expanded with new gameplay systems and persistent threats, Echelon grew from a tight-knit crew of friends and veterans into a full-spectrum security organization. Members provided critical support during the unfolding Regen Crisis, supplying various resources and protecting hauling vessels from outlaw attacks.

Present Day (2955+)

Today, Echelon Defense Solutions stands as a mature, mission-focused force operating across multiple systems. We remain steadfastly lawful, offering combat support, logistics, and emergency response where official forces fall short.

From defending against ongoing criminal syndicates to preparing for frontier expansion into systems like Nyx, Echelon continues to evolve. We provide our members with opportunities to grow skills, lead operations, and contribute to something greater: a safer ‘verse.

Manifesto

Our Motives

Founded in 2953, Echelon Defense Solutions was born from the recognition that corporate security forces are spread too thin and UEE Navy assets are heavily committed against the Vanduul front. Independent operators, bounty hunters, and security professionals saw a growing void in day-to-day protection across civilized space and chose to fill it with structure, trust, and proven capability rather than pure profit chasing.

We combine the experience of veteran pilots, tactical specialists, and professional haulers into a lawful, cohesive force. Our drive comes not from bureaucracy or credit-counting, but from a commitment to stability, mutual reliance among members, and the satisfaction of executing difficult jobs cleanly and effectively.

Charter

// Article I: Membership Rights

⦁ Real-life always comes first.

⦁ Members are always encouraged to explore Star Citizen, learn on their own and ask veterans questions.

⦁ Membership is flexible, if you need to take a break feel free. Although, (this primarily applies to new members) if you are inactive for a long period of time you may be disbanded from the organization.

// Article II: Code of Conduct

⦁ Members shall act ethically and responsibly, avoiding unnecessary aggression and prioritizing the safety of clients, unarmed civilians, and otherwise friendly players.

⦁ The unauthorized killing, or otherwise unprovoked killing of an individual, is murder. EDS Personnel carry their weaponry only in the defense of themselves and others around them.

⦁ Echelon prohibits discrimination based on race, sex, and political beliefs. Every entity should be treated with respect and dignity; no disrespectful behavior will be tolerated.

⦁ Be honest and trustworthy. If there is a dispute between you and another member, work it out like adults.

// Article III: Operational Guidelines

⦁ Echelon Defense Solutions is led by senior members who have earned trust through action. Leadership exists to coordinate, support, and uphold the group’s values—not to command for ego or control.

⦁ Missions are to be conducted with strategic planning, clear objectives, and a commitment to minimizing collateral damage. Please follow these plans.

// Article IV: Collaborative Partnerships

EDS maintains alliances with trusted orgs [Intersolar Defense Solutions] and sub-groups. Members must support and respect these relationships.

⦁ Lower-ranking personnel (non-officers) may not negotiate or represent EDS in external matters without prior authorization.

// Article V: Disciplinary Actions

⦁ Treat other members with respect and dignity, regardless of personal differences. If conflicts arise disciplinary action will be handled by our administrators and members of command. This relates to Article II.

// Article VI: Commitment to Growth

⦁ Accept counsel. If subject to critique or counsel from your leadership structure, accept these statements as a chance to improve

⦁ Members are encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions for improving operations and culture.

⦁ Participation in training and leadership development is expected.
