Explorati started on Terra as the brainchild of Seamus and Celeste Hand in 2582. The idea was that exploration of our galaxy had ground to a halt, and a dedicated team could find out answers to questions the human race didn’t know it had. They started with a single pathfinder, a dream, and enough credits to get them to the next station.

Within 10 years Explorati became the premier exploration and stellar research firm in the UEE. Dozens of specialized exploration ships scattered across hundreds of star clusters worked tirelessly to find new planets and uncover new secrets of the cosmos. A handful of dedicated waystations provided refueling and logistics services to support the fleet. By the time Celeste passed away in 2643, Explorati was the first explorer of 41% of the systems in UEE territory.

Tragedy struck in 2681 with the Orion Massacre by the Vanduul. While a few ships and all of the deep space outposts survived, they fell into disrepair relatively quickly after the destruction of the Orion facilities. Exploration became less lucrative and the company slowly dwindled until the company was listed as defunct in 2695. It was involuntarily dissolved by the UEE Office of the Registrar in 2697.

The original company charter was saved and had been passed down through the Hand family for generations, until Abigail Tallus received her grandmother’s effects after her passing. Abigail, much like Celeste before her, longed to see the stars, and this charter inspired her to do more to fulfill that dream. After hiring Joseph Lizenski as CEO, Abigail has re-established what will soon emerge as the premier exploration and research organization in the ‘Verse!
