History
Era I: The Cadets and the Open Comms
In the beginning, there was no shadow wing. The foundation of everything was the galaxy cadets—a tight-knit crew of pilots, explorers, and drifters who believed in charting the ‘verse together. As the cadets grew in numbers and ambition, they evolved into the massive community known today as the Star-Drifters.
The Star-Drifters were loud, proud, and visible. They built a reputation on open comms, mutual support, and taking in pilots who didn’t fit into the rigid military orgs of the UEE. They ran massive, coordinated mining ops, threw open-invite events, and became a beacon for anyone looking for a crew. But in the Stanton system, being loud and trusting also means painting a massive target on your back.
Era II: Pirate Syndicates and The Great Betrayal
As the Star-Drifters’ influence and wealth expanded, they caught the attention of organized pirate cartels. At first, the attacks seemed random—a cargo hauler interdicted here, a mining claim raided there. But the ambushes grew too precise. The pirates always knew exactly which routes were unguarded and exactly when the heavy escorts were offline.
Era III: Dropping the Veil
To protect the community they had built, the leadership had to step into the dark. Under the command of galaxyglider, a silent protocol was initiated to ensure this level of betrayal could never happen again.
The most fiercely loyal veterans, the quietest data-runners, and the most lethal combat pilots were quietly pulled from the main rosters of the galaxy cadets and the public Star-Drifter channels. They scrubbed their transponders. They went radio silent. They became The Veil of the Galaxy.
The Veil was built to be the unseen shield and the ultimate counter-intelligence network for the Star-Drifters. Operating entirely on encrypted frequencies, they became the signal interceptors hunting for moles, the advance scouts for heavy convoys, and the first line of defense against pirate ambushes.
The Flagship Era: The ultimate shift came with the commissioning of the Polaris flagship. Operating as a mobile, off-the-grid black site, the Polaris allows The Veil’s operatives to run silent reconnaissance, root out betrayals before they happen, and deliver devastating torpedo strikes from the dark against any syndicate bold enough to target the Star-Drifters.
Today, the relationship is perfectly symbiotic. The Star-Drifters are the welcoming heart of the community, free to operate in the light. But The Veil of the Galaxy waits in the shadows, ensuring that anyone who tries to break that community pays with their ship.

Manifesto: The Code of the Frequency
I. Silence is our Shield
The Star-Drifters operate in the light; we operate in the shadow. No operative of The Veil shall broadcast on public frequencies, reveal our coordinates, or discuss our missions with those outside the wing. We are the ghost in the machine. If they don’t know we’re there, they can’t stop us.
II. Loyalty is Absolute
The Great Betrayal taught us that a single leak can sink a fleet. We do not tolerate half-measures or divided loyalties. Every member of The Veil is vetted through the fire. We protect the community, we protect the Polaris, and above all, we protect each other. Treason is met with a total blackout—permanently.
III. Strike from the Dark
We are not a standing army; we are a precision instrument. We do not seek glory or fair fights. We intercept the signal, we find the weakness, and we strike when the enemy least expects it. When the Polaris launches its torpedoes, it is the last thing the enemy will never see coming.
