Ha'la'tha / HALATHA

The Halatha is the one of largest crime syndicates operating in the Galaxy. The organization’s name originates from the Tyrol’s system planet of Tyrol V (Tauron) meaning “always faithful to the soil”. Its leader is known as the Guatrau.

253 years ago Tyrol V Civil War resulted from the conflict between the Halatha and United Empire of Earth (UEE). After their defeat and the subsequent attempted genocide by UEE death squads, members of the Halatha fled off world, engaging in criminal activities to fund themselves and slowly becoming an organized crime syndicate instead of resistance fighters as before. UEE’s attempt to colonize the Tyrol system was later abandon when it was discovered the late-stage red giant star lifespan was less than expected. UEE deemed the system non profitable or colonization worthy.

Halatha members sport tattoos on their faces and across the length of their bodies, but one tattoo that all members must have is one that visually represents the oath a member swore upon entering the organization. Tattooing is a custom followed across Tyrol V (Tauron) society, but many on Earth associate it exclusively with the Ha’la’tha.

In addition to those who are members of the syndicate, the Halatha also maintains an extensive secretive network of connections that reaches powerful levels of business, government and the underground. Its webs reaches far across the galaxy to systems like Stanton, Sol and other unknown systems. The name Ha’la’tha can be heard whispered even in bustling black markets of Earth’s cities like Shanghai.

The Halatha’s Guatrau maintains a policy of neutrality with regard to political events in the galaxy, even though the organization had been founded as a resistance movement against the currently-ruling UEE.
