Founding of H.A.N.D.S. — 2956

In 2956, as the United Empire of Earth struggled to maintain order across its expanding frontier and the Vanduul War continued to drain military resources, independent traders, salvagers, and private security contractors found themselves operating without reliable financial support. Frontier systems such as Stanton and Pyro had become hubs of opportunity, but also of uncertainty.

Seeing this gap, Mr. Vanta gathered a small circle of merchants, data brokers, and privateer captains aboard a converted merchant vessel orbiting Stanton. Their goal was simple: create an organization capable of protecting assets, managing investments, and exchanging information beyond the reach of traditional banks.

On July 20th, 2956, the group formally established:

H.A.N.D.S.

Unlike conventional financial institutions, H.A.N.D.S. was built on a single principle:

The organization’s earliest operations involved financing cargo runs between Stanton and Pyro, providing escrow services for independent captains, tracking commodity prices across multiple systems, and maintaining a confidential network of informants throughout the frontier. With Pyro’s lawless environment creating both danger and opportunity, demand for H.A.N.D.S.’ services grew rapidly.

Within months, H.A.N.D.S. evolved from a small financial collective into a respected syndicate of traders, financiers, intelligence brokers, and privateers. While publicly presenting itself as a banking council, its true strength came from the vast network of information and influence cultivated by Mr. Vanta and his associates.
