House Meridian is a Great House of independent pilots who value freedom first and fellowship by choice. Fly solo, form your own House, or join others when you wish. No mandates. No schedules. Just a shared bearing in the Verse. “WE ANSWER TO THE STARS!”

History

A Brief History of House Meridian

House Meridian traces its origin to the closing decades of the 29th century, amid a Verse increasingly dominated by mega-corporations, rigid militias, and sprawling alliances that demanded more loyalty than many independent pilots were willing to give.

Its founder, Socio, was one such pilot—an experienced spacer who flew widely across UEE space, from the industrial lanes of Stanton to the quieter reaches beyond well-charted routes. In his travels, Socio observed a recurring truth of the Verse: countless capable captains preferred to fly alone, yet repeatedly found themselves forming temporary bonds—crews of convenience, escorts by mutual agreement, friendships born between contracts.

These alliances worked best when they were chosen, not enforced.

House Meridian emerged from this realization. Rather than founding another fleet or syndicate, Socio established a banner of alignment—a Great House that offered orientation without authority. Meridian provided a shared name, reputation, and channel of trust for independent pilots who wished to cooperate freely, without surrendering autonomy.

Over time, other captains aligned themselves with Meridian’s philosophy. Some founded Minor Houses beneath its banner—small, self-governing lineages that reflected their own priorities and styles of flight. Others aligned as individuals, content to fly solo while knowing aid was never far beyond comms range.

House Meridian grew not through conquest or decree, but through reputation. It became known as a House of steady bearings, trusted conduct, and voluntary fellowship—respected across systems precisely because it refused to bind those who flew beneath its name.

Today, House Meridian stands as First Among Equals: a quiet but enduring presence in the Verse, reminding all who encounter it that even among the stars, the strongest bonds are those freely chosen.

Manifesto

House Meridian is an organization founded on choice.

We believe the Verse is best experienced when pilots are free to chart their own course—flying solo when they wish, and flying together when it suits them. Independence and fellowship are not opposites; both hold value when freely chosen.

House Meridian rejects rigid hierarchies, mandatory activity, and authority built on obligation. We value autonomy, mutual respect, and cooperation by consent.

Our intent is simple:

  • Preserve freedom of play
  • Encourage voluntary relationships
  • Support diverse playstyles
  • Build trust through reputation, not control

We align not to be ruled, but to share a common bearing.
We gather not because we must, but because we choose to.
