History

In the wake of the Great Expansion, when humanity pushed ever deeper into the untamed systems beyond the core worlds, small bands of independent spacers began to form loose nomadic packs. They rejected the rigid hierarchies of corporations and the endless wars of empires. Instead, they lived by a simple, ancient code: Hunt what is worthy. Gather what sustains. Grow stronger together.

The Hunter Gatherers trace their roots to the year 2948, during the turbulent period following the fall of several frontier outposts in the Orion and Stanton systems. A diverse group of survivors — former miners displaced by corporate greed, retired bounty hunters weary of endless contracts, explorers who had mapped the unknown reaches, and engineers who could coax life from broken hulls — found themselves stranded together after a massive Vanduul raid on a remote trading post.

Rather than scattering or seeking shelter under larger organizations, they chose a different path. Pooling their skills and resources. They hunted the raiders that preyed on the weak, salvaged what the battles left behind, and shared every hard lesson learned in the black. What began as a desperate survival pact evolved into a true pack — a collaborative family of citizens from every walk of life.

Today, the Hunter Gatherers roam the ‘verse as a nomadic clan. We claim no single home system, preferring instead the freedom of the frontier. You will find us in the asteroid belts and the Glaciem Ring, the exotic biomes of Pyro and Nyx, the salvage fields of Crusader, and the uncharted edges where new jump points open. We hunt those that threaten honest spacers, gather rare minerals and exotic resources, and explore the unknown — always together.

Our history is not written in grand conquests or towering monuments. It is written in the quiet moments: a veteran teaching a new citizen how to scan a wreck, a squadron taking down a fleet of pirates, a crew sharing the spoils of a successful mining run, a fire team defeating our enemies through tactics, firepower and hand to hand combat, and the proud farewell when one of our own sets out on a greater journey.

We carry the old ways into the future of the stars.

Manifesto

In the endless black of the ‘verse, we are the Hunter Gatherers.

We do not chase empires or hoard power.

We hunt what we deem worthy prey — threats to our pack, bounties that test our skill, opportunities that demand courage.

We gather the resources of the stars — minerals, salvage, knowledge, and friendships — so that we may survive and thrive.

Our pack welcomes every citizen, regardless of experience, ship size, or chosen path. Mission runner, Bounty hunter, Miner, Salvager, Space Trucker, Crafter, Explorer, Trader or Engineer, rookie or veteran — all have a place at the fire.

We believe strength is born from collaborating, teaching and learning together. Veterans pass down hard-won lessons; new citizens bring fresh eyes, questions and ideas. When one of us grows stronger, the entire pack rises.

Should the day come when your journey leads you beyond our borders, go with our blessing. There will be no bitterness — only pride that we helped shape your path. Hopefully you’ll leave as family, and we hope one day to stand as allies once more.

We are the Hunter Gatherers — a nomadic pack of citizens bound by a shared desire to survive, thrive, and grow stronger together in the ‘verse.

We hunt what we deem worthy prey. We gather what we need to survive and prosper. We teach, we learn, we lift each other up.

Our pack welcomes every citizen, regardless of experience, ship size, or chosen profession. We believe strength comes from collaboration and knowledge sharing. Should you one day outgrow us, go with our blessing — no hard feelings, only pride and future allies.

Code of Conduct
We are a pack, not a corporation. These rules keep our hunting grounds fair and the fire warm for everyone:

  1. Respect Every Member — Treat others with courtesy. No harassment, toxicity, elitism, or gatekeeping.
  2. Real Life Comes First — No mandatory playtime or events. Family, work, and health always take priority.
  3. Collaborate in Good Faith — Share tips and help when you’re able. We succeed together.
  4. Fair Play & Integrity — Follow RSI’s Rules of Conduct and Terms of Service at all times. No cheating, griefing, or betrayal. In PvP (hunting), engage honorably.
  5. Communication — Be clear and respectful. Resolve conflicts privately with leadership when needed.
  6. Representation — Represent the pack positively when interacting with the broader community.
  7. Growth & Departure — If you choose to leave, you do so with our well-wishes and as a friend.

Violations will be handled fairly and privately by leadership, starting with a conversation. Repeated or severe issues may result in removal.

Structure, Ranks, and Activities

  • Chief – Overall leadership and vision holder. Responsible for the org’s direction, final decisions, and representing us externally.
  • Elder – Highly respected long-term members who serve as advisors. They guide the pack with wisdom, settle disputes fairly, and help shape our future.
  • Pack Leader (Leadership / Division Leads) – Trusted coordinators who help run divisions (Hunters, Gatherers, Crafters, Explorers, Support etc.), schedule events, or mentor on a broader scale. Earned through demonstrated leadership and alignment with our values.
  • Tracker (Trusted / Veteran) – Experienced members who regularly mentor newer players, organize small events, or show consistent reliability and helpfulness.
  • Hunter / Gatherer (Core Member) – Full member of the pack. You actively participate in hunts or gathering runs, help others when possible, and embody our principles. You may wear the tag proudly.
  • Scout (Recruit) – New to the pack. Welcome! Focus on learning the ‘verse, asking questions, and joining group activities. Everyone starts here.

Divisions (Hunters – combat/security, Gatherers – resources/exploration, Crafters & Support – engineering/medical/logistics) are flexible. Members can participate in any or all.

Promotion is based on contribution to the pack’s spirit — teaching, helping, and showing up in a positive way.

By joining Hunter Gatherers, you agree to uphold these principles in spirit and action.
