Mankind has always known its destiny would be among the stars; the INFINITE OCEAN is ours to explore. Ever onward, never looking back. We are INFINITE OCEAN SERVICES.
History
Ash Deckar was born on Terra in 2914 to a hard-working father who made his living ferrying large mining vessels safely through the Henge Cluster. He followed in his father’s footsteps starting out as an ARGO pilot loading surface-to-space cargoes on larger ‘Hull Series’ for the transportation arm of The Corporation (CORP). But always looking to the horizon, he had dreams of striking out further on his own.
In early 2943 he made the leap with two life-long friends and pitched all they had on a Constellation Aquila to augment their personal craft and carry them on bigger, deeper transportation runs to fund longer stretches into the vast swathes of unexplored Black. And thus, INFINITE OCEAN SERVICES was born. A year later they were joined by two more friends, ex-Marines bored of their mining jobs cashed in and augmented IOS with a scabbed Retaliator and a Carrack.
Since then, we have added various small craft to assist with convoy protection, tracking, and bounty hunting, but every credit we earn carries us closer to our next discovery and wherever the currents of the empyrean may take us.
Our board of Founders was brought together by more than a need for money. Though we will take any legitimate job to keep fuel in our tanks, we are a group absolutely motivated to discover what lies beyond the next horizon, through the next jump hole, behind the nebula’s veil. IOS remains a fun loving crew to work for, with a true passion for Exploration.
Manifesto
Exploration: The pinnacle of IOS goals, we seek to further mankind’s position and our shareholders’ place among the stars. From charting new systems and jump holes to the research of new flora and rare earth minerals, we push the edge in discovery.
Justice: Our deep reach into alien systems has granted us many contacts abroad in both Xi’an and Banu space. Our knowledge of these areas has clientele reaching out to us for expertise in information, tracking, and bounty hunting operations.
Retribution: Although we aren’t a direct action company, we will never forget what happened on Vega II. Aremis stands as a solemn reminder that we are not alone in the galaxy and that we must stand together. From participating in direct confrontation to delivering supplies to beleaguered colonies to rescuing downed pilots, we stand shoulder to shoulder with the rest of humanity against the Vanduul or any other threat that assails us.
Charter
Members of Infinite Ocean Services (hereafter referred to as ‘IOS’) shall do no harm to the innocent. Innocence shall be established by local authority or Captain’s arbitration in uncontrolled space.
Direct Action shall be affirmed by no less than three Founding members or three members of the current Board.
All members shall render aid to others where appropriate and safely within their capacity to do so.
All members shall strive to push the fleet into the furthest reaches of space, expanding mankind’s footprint in search of new worlds, minerals, and technology.
