History
The Black Jackals started as a mercenary group founded by Noremac Kavele in 2938. They primarily took security missions for UEE-backed traders and freelancers until 2943 when the UEE used them in a ploy to retrieve stolen data from a group of pirates, leaving their forces decimated and their leader dead.
Left with only a couple of ships and five remaining members, the mercenaries elected Derakos Zrux as the new leader of the Black Jackals. After a couple of rough years of rebuilding, today they are a growing multi-purpose organization on the fringes of human occupied space, trading, exploring and pirating from the UEE when it suits them. They seem to be biding their time as they continue to accumulate resources and popularity among those outside of the UEE’s sphere of influence.
Manifesto
“The Black Jackals seek to dismantle the UEE and build a true democracy that is governed my all of it’s citizens. However, we don’t pursue this goal through open-ended conflict or terrorism. Instead, we seek to build our own society. A better society. A society so efficient and so just that it will obviate the need for the UEE all together.
To accomplish this, the Black Jackals will endeavor to be at the forefront of exploration, commerce, engineering, military development and more. We will explore new frontiers and procure novel technologies. We will make allies with humans, Xi’An and Banu who see the UEE as we do. We will protect ourselves and others from the Vanduul threat, and we will fight the UEE when they attack us or those they should protect. We shall serve as an example of what humanity… of what sentient life is capable of when we put our lives and our futures first.”
