Killington Mining Operations (KMO) is a laid‑back, community‑driven industrial corp focused on building wealth the smart, steady, and social way. Whether you’re cracking rocks solo in the belt, running single and multi‑crew mining ops with friends, or hauling refined goods across the ’verse.

History

Killington Mining Operations (KMO) – Org History

Founded: 2952
Headquarters: New Babbage, microTech – Stanton System
Primary Focus: Mining
Secondary Operations: Cargo Hauling, Salvage & Recovery

Killington Mining Operations began as a small, independent crew of pilots and industrial specialists who were tired of corporate contracts, bloated org politics, and grind-for-someone-else lifestyles. The founders had roots in old independent mining outfits and capsuleer-era corporations, carrying over a culture of self-reliance, mutual profit, and relaxed professionalism.

The org officially planted its flag in New Babbage on microTech, choosing the city for three reasons:

Direct access to high-value trade lanes

Proximity to asteroid belts and refinery operations

A stable corporate environment without being locked into mega-corp control

Early KMO operations focused on small-scale asteroid and surface mining, selling raw materials to local refiners and manufacturers. As profits stabilized, the org expanded into cargo hauling, moving refined goods across Stanton and quietly building relationships with traders and manufacturers who valued reliability over speed.

Over time, KMO picked up contracts and side work in salvage and recovery, often cleaning up abandoned wrecks and battlefield debris. While not mercenaries or combat-focused, KMO crews learned how to operate safely in contested space, relying on coordination, scouting, and smart route planning rather than brute force.

Today, Killington Mining Operations operates as a chill but capable industrial org:

No mandatory ops

No drama

No “24/7 grind” culture

KMO prides itself on being the kind of org where you can hop in after work, run a few mining or cargo ops with good people, make some credits, and log off without feeling like a second job just started.

Manifesto

Killington Mining Operations was built for pilots who want to make credits without turning the ‘verse into a second job.

We are an industrial-focused organization operating out of New Babbage on microTech, with our roots in mining, cargo hauling, and salvage operations throughout the Stanton system. Our goal is simple: run efficient operations, support each other, and enjoy the game while we do it.

KMO believes that good crews are built on trust, not pressure. We don’t chase forced attendance, mandatory ops, or rank-based ego. If you show up ready to work, communicate with your crew, and respect the time of others, you belong here. Whether you’re cracking rocks in the belt, hauling refined goods across Stanton, or pulling salvage from forgotten wrecks, every role matters.

We operate smart, not reckless. We value preparation, scouting, and teamwork over brute force. We avoid unnecessary conflict, but we’re not naïve about the risks of operating in space. Our ships may not be built for war, but our crews are trained to adapt, extract, and protect each other when things go sideways.

At the end of the day, Killington Mining Operations exists for one reason:
to build something steady in a chaotic universe.

No drama.
No grind-for-someone-else mentality.
Just good people, good ops, and steady profits.

If you’re looking for a relaxed org that still takes its operations seriously, you’ve found your crew.

Charter

The following charter outlines the expectations and standards for all members of Killington Mining Operations (KMO). These guidelines exist to keep the org organized, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

1. Respect the Crew
All members will treat fellow KMO pilots with respect. No harassment, discrimination, or toxic behavior. We’re here to have a good time and make credits, not create drama.

2. Fly Smart, Fly Safe
KMO operates in hazardous space. Members are expected to use common sense, communicate risks, and follow basic op safety when flying in group operations. You don’t have to be perfect—just don’t be reckless with other people’s time and ships.

3. Teamwork Over Ego
No lone-wolf behavior during organized operations. When flying with KMO, coordinate with the group, follow agreed plans, and support your crew. Everyone’s time matters.

4. No Drama, No Griefing
Internal conflict, griefing, scamming, or deliberately sabotaging operations is not tolerated. Disagreements happen—handle them like adults and move on.

5. Fair Play & Profit Sharing
During organized org ops, loot and profits will be handled fairly and transparently. No cutting corners, ninja-looting, or side deals that undermine the group.

6. Chill First, Serious When It Counts
We’re laid back, but when an operation is underway, focus up. Listen to comms, stay on task, and help keep the op running smoothly.

7. Represent KMO Well
When wearing the KMO tag, you represent the org. Don’t bring unnecessary heat, start beef with other orgs, or act in ways that reflect poorly on the group.

8. Real Life Comes First
No one is expected to be online 24/7. Real life always comes first. Just communicate when you can and don’t ghost active ops without a word.

9. Zero Tolerance for Exploits or Cheating
Use of exploits, cheats, or intentional abuse of game mechanics puts the org at risk and won’t be tolerated.

10. Leadership Has Final Say
Org leadership is responsible for keeping KMO running smoothly. Decisions won’t always make everyone happy, but they will be made in the best interest of the org as a whole.
