The Knights of Pridwen – “Defenders of the innocent and protectors of the helpless – We are the shield of the verse.”

History

How did the Knights of Pridwen form?

The origins of the Knights of Pridwen trace back to 2949, when a single former UEE Navy pilot founded a small, independent operation dedicated to security and protection contracts across the Verse. What began as a modest, one-person endeavor quickly grew in both scope and purpose. While protection remained at its core, the mission expanded significantly allowing the company to take on any work that served those in need. Over the following years, that commitment never wavered.

In 2955, a formal partnership was established, marking a turning point in both vision and identity. The organization was rebranded as the Knights of Pridwen, signaling not just growth – but a declaration of purpose. With that reformation, we made the deliberate choice of branding as an organization rather than a Private Military Company or Mega corporation. Private Military Company, although the work we do does very often overlap with what a traditional PMC would do, just didn’t feel like the right fit. We didn’t want to pigeon hole ourselves into those specific types of contracts. We wanted the freedom to take a more diverse set of jobs to help the civilians and citizens of the verse. As for our decision to avoid the Corporate label, The Knights of Pridwen answers to no board, no shareholders, and no investors. While we are a for profit organization, our decisions are not solely driven by revenues. We occasionally take on pro bono contracts and do other charitable work. Our purpose is quite simple – to serve and to protect the Verse.

What have we done?

As an organization, the Knights of Pridwen have operated across a wide range of disciplines – just as we had originally set out to do. We have a history of undertaking security, escort, and combat operations when necessary; standing against piracy, bandits, outlaws, nefarious organizations, and even the Vanduul. But our mission does not end there. We have salvaged ships and mined ore to deliver critical resources to rebuilding communities. We have hauled essential cargo like food, water, and medical supplies to those experiencing humanitarian crises. Whenever the Verse has called for aid, we have answered. Our members have lent aid throughout known space during events including Save Stanton, Fight for Pyro, and response efforts during the Molina Mold outbreak, among many others.

We do not define ourselves by a single role or contract. We define ourselves by the impact we leave behind. The Knights of Pridwen exist as a shield to the Verse – not solely for profits, not for glory, but for those who cannot stand alone.

Manifesto

Introduction

The Knights of Pridwen are, at their core, a for-profit organization, but profit will never come at the cost of principle. We will accept contracts across the Verse, provided they do not conflict with our moral code. Our purpose is not simply to complete jobs, but to ensure that what we do serves something greater. We chose the Knights of Pridwen as our name to paint a picture of our ideals and what we stand for. The name Pridwen is not a place, a ship, or an object, it is a code. An ideal rooted in the ancient principles of knighthood, carried forward into the modern Verse.

We believe in good. In valor, chivalry, honor, and courage. In loyalty, justice, generosity, and mercy. And when necessary, we will go to war…

These are not relics of a forgotten age, but standards we hold ourselves to in every action we take. We will never accept a contract, regardless of reward, that compromises our honor or betrays our values. We exist to stand for those who cannot stand for themselves – to defend the helpless and protect the innocent.

What We Do

The Knights of Pridwen operate across all disciplines of the Verse. We are not limited by role, we are defined by purpose. We will take on security and escort operations, engage in both ground and space based combat, pursue bounty contracts, and stand against threats whatever they may be. Beyond combat, we salvage, mine, and haul critical resources, delivering supplies to those in need. We provide logistical support, humanitarian aid, search and rescue, medical response, and even participate in exploration and scientific discovery. We prioritize contracts that serve the greater good, but when the Verse is quiet, we remain ready to answer any call.

What We Will Not Do

There are, of course, lines we do not cross.

We do not engage in piracy.
We do not grief or exploit others.
We do not profit from the suffering of the innocent.

Under no circumstances will we accept work that harms civilians or makes the Verse a lesser or more dangerous place. No amount of payment will outweigh our code.

Who We Stand Against

The Knights of Pridwen stand as protectors against any force that threatens the safety and stability of the Verse and those who dwell within it. We have faced pirates, smugglers, outlaw factions, criminal syndicates, and even hostile alien forces such as the Vanduul, and we will continue to do so wherever necessary. We operate as an independent organization, without formal ties to the UEE. While we respect the law and work within its bounds, our loyalty lies first with the people of the Verse. If circumstances demand it, we will stand in defense of civilians and citizens alike, against anyone, regardless of who stands on the other side.

In Conclusion

At the end of the day, the Knights of Pridwen are fierce protectors of the Verse. Whether that means light hearted contracts for everyday people, or fighting fiercely against its enemies, the Knights of Pridwen will answer the call – we will be your shield.

Not for glory.
Not for power.
But because someone must.

And we choose to be the ones who do.

Rules and Expectations

Real Life Comes First

Rule number one is simple: real life always comes first. While we encourage activity and love having members engaged, we fully understand that real-world responsibilities, obligations, and unexpected events take priority. You should never feel pressured to choose the organization over something important in your life. We will always support that balance.

Have Fun & Be Respectful

This is a game, and the purpose of a game is to have fun. We expect all members to contribute to a positive, enjoyable environment for both fellow members and the broader player base. Treat others with respect and basic decency at all times.

We do not tolerate:

Harassment or discrimination
Toxic behavior or rage-baiting
Griefing or harassing other players
Internal drama or org infighting

Additionally, we ask that potentially divisive topics such as politics and religion be kept absent from org spaces. There is a time and place for those discussions, and this is not it – those topics just tend to get too hot too fast.

Membership Expectations

To ensure smooth communication and a cohesive experience, we have a few basic requirements:

Discord is required
A working microphone is required for operations
Members must be 18 years or older
All recruits will go through a short trial period

The trial period is not meant to be restrictive or intimidating, it simply ensures that new members are a good fit for the community. If you’re respectful, easygoing, and here to have a good time, you’ll have no issues.

Members are allowed to belong to other organizations. We do not require Knights of Pridwen to be your primary org unless you are in a leadership position. However, when representing this organization, especially as your visible or primary org, we expect all rules and standards to be upheld.

Conduct in the Verse

The Knights of Pridwen is a NO piracy PvP organization. We do not engage in:

Piracy
Griefing
Harassing players in-game

That doesn’t mean you can’t partake in PvP at all. In fact, we encourage it in certain circumstances such as:

Player bounty hunting
Responding to calls for aid in the in game chat
Defending others from hostile players/organizations
Contested zones designed for PvP

We strongly encourage PvP in the right circumstances and will fight fiercely against those who are making it hard for other players to follow our second most important rule – have fun! At the end of the day, we are the shield of the verse. That’s not just an in game/roleplay motto, it is a true ideal both in game and out.

Other activities like illegal or unverified PvE contracts are permitted, provided they do not negatively impact other players’ experiences. From a role play perspective, the organization in game will never (or at least very rarely) assign you these jobs or partake in these operations. If we do, it’s simply because we enjoy the game play or they are the most lucrative missions at the time – essentially they are considered non-canon events. This is a game and its purpose is to be enjoyed. We aren’t going to stop you from playing PvE content that you enjoy or that are making you the most money.

Fair Play & Integrity

We have zero tolerance for cheating or exploitation. This includes:

Cheating
Exploiting bugs
Duping or abusing game systems

These actions actively set Star Citizen back and make the verse a worse place. It creates the need for wipes and economy issues that ruin the game for a lot of people and take away whole game loops. All members are expected to follow RSI’s Terms of Service and play the game legitimately.

Structure & Operations

Knights of Pridwen operates as a light mil-sim / role play organization. We do not require members to remain in character (although you are free to if you would like, you’d be surprised how many of our players would enjoy that), and we intentionally avoid overly rigid structures that detract from enjoyment. However, during organized operations (which will occur a couple of times a month for now, maybe more in the future) there will be temporary chains of command, squad leaders, and assigned roles and positions. Assigned roles and positions will be via sign ups, not just randomly applied to you. It will be first come, first serve, with flexibility and the intention that everyone gets to do something that they signed up for and/or something they enjoy doing. Again, this is a game, rule number 2 is to have fun! These structures exist to ensure coordination and mission success. Communications can get hectic during big operations inside discord. This is not intended to create unnecessary formality or restrict fun.

Outside of organized operations, there is no formal command structure, no required role play unless you would like, and no rigid expectations. At that point, we are simply a group of people playing the game together.

Final Thought

At the end of the day, everything comes back to one idea: Be a good person. Have fun. Don’t make the game worse for others. If you can do that, you will fit in perfectly with us.
