The Vanduul were ruthless. On the night of July 7, 2884, they descended upon our home planet, Crion (Caliban II), with terrifying precision and overwhelming force. The attack was spearheaded by one of their Kingships, a massive, city-sized vessel that eclipsed the stars and heralded death for all below. Our planetary defenses, anchored by the United Empire of Earth’s 88th Squadron, were caught completely off-guard. The squadron’s brave pilots scrambled to meet the invaders, but the battle was over before it even began. The Vanduul’s superior numbers and advanced weaponry annihilated the 88th Squadron, leaving only a single crewman alive to bear witness to the destruction.

On the surface, the devastation was unimaginable. The Vanduul’s ground forces swept through Crion’s cities with ruthless efficiency, leaving nothing but smoldering ruins and rivers of ash in their wake. Families were torn apart as loved ones vanished in the chaos Amidst the horror, a handful of us managed to find refuge aboard a collection of ships—civilian starliners repurposed for survival, fragile cargo traders filled with frightened refugees, and any vessel that could still lift off. We fled into the void, our flotilla of disparate ships bound together by desperation.

With the Vanduul horde chasing us, we left behind everything we had ever known: the cities where we were born, the fields that fed us, and the people we loved. The skies above Crion burned bright as the planet was consumed by the invaders, a stark reminder of what we had lost and what awaited us if we failed to stay ahead of the relentless Vanduul pursuit.
