History

A Legacy of Innovation: Centurion Bioengineering

Centurion Bioengineering stands as one of the United Empire of Earth’s most esteemed conglomerates, excelling in the realms of trade, security, and groundbreaking pharmaceutical and genetic research. Established in 2514, just two years prior to the unearthing of Terra Prime, Centurion Bioengineering was the brainchild of Dr. Mattias Clayson, a pioneering geneticist, and Dr. Ariana Embrey, a distinguished biologist. Their vision was to explore novel pharmaceuticals, enriching the lives of the common citizen.

In 2515, the corporation unveiled its first performance-enhancing pharmaceutical, ‘Oxythuid,’ designed initially for military purposes. While the initial trials showed promise, a security breach within the research and development branch inadvertently exposed the drug’s details to the public. This unintentional revelation led to misconceptions, with activists alleging that Centurion sought to create super-soldiers and conducted illicit human trials.

Promptly, the United Nations of Earth (UNE) and private investigative agencies initiated a comprehensive probe. Dr. Clayson and Dr. Embrey cooperated fully, disclosing all information, and the investigation concluded without evidence of human rights violations, putting to rest any legal concerns.

This incident, however, instigated a profound transformation within the private enterprise. By 2516, Centurion Bioengineering had expanded its internal security apparatus to an unprecedented scale. Over a thousand private security personnel were hired, and a dedicated intelligence division was inaugurated to safeguard the corporation and its workforce. During this period, the company chose to maintain its primary headquarters on Terra Prime, erecting an iconic building. This site also facilitated the emergence of its trading division and a robust public relations department.

While publicly presented as a mere expansion of its pharmaceutical interests, the trading division concealed a more covert purpose. With its enduring government contracts, Centurion maintained control over its operations without external oversight, thus ensuring enhanced confidentiality.

The company remained steadfast for several years, with Dr. Clayson and Dr. Embrey retiring from their leadership roles to seek personal tranquility and raise their families. Amid speculations of a potential transition to a publicly traded entity, a new private investor, Tivadar Delgard, assumed control. Mr. Delgard upheld the original mission but was compelled to redirect the company’s resources and advanced pharmaceuticals to support Operation Nemesis, necessitated by the Tevarn contact.

Centurion, once again called upon by the UPE Military, embarked on a mission to explore the vulnerabilities in the Tevarin genome. This endeavor included developing and potentially deploying chemical weapons against the species, a matter still shrouded in secrecy.
While initially hesitant, Delgard accepted the substantial budget allocation, sparking one of the most extensive corporate and governmental conflicts to date. Despite its outward identity as a prominent trading entity with a secure pharmaceutical division, Centurion’s security forces gradually evolved into a formidable entity. By 2555, these forces, with generous funding from pharmaceutical and trading divisions, had become one of the premier private military special forces divisions, specializing in the protection of corporate assets and trade routes.

By 2792, Centurion had retained its enduring image and core functions. However, as UEE intelligence records began to surface regarding past genetic experiments on other races, and in the wake of the Garron II massacre, a crisis loomed. UEE Intelligence initiated a daring raid on Centurion Corporate Headquarters, resulting in a protracted battle. In the end, the operatives barely penetrated the lobby of the company’s iconic building.

With the UEE government faltering, Centurion embarked on a new endeavor. Deploying one of its spec-ops teams amidst the chaos of uprisings and leadership breakdown, the company infiltrated government data centers, erasing any negative information related to the corporation. Simultaneously, its security forces aided the civilian population against oppressive government elements. As a result, Centurion emerged from this transition with newfound public favor and the trust of the restructured UEE government.

In the present day, Centurion Bioengineering, now led by Daiden Kessler, remains as resilient as ever, embracing a forward-looking agenda for an ever-evolving universe. With research and development teams exploring the cosmos and a redesigned trading system, the company has recently disclosed plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to Terra Prime and adopt a new corporate identity adorned in Turquoise Blue and Royal Blue, symbolizing a rebranding from the company’s historical black and gold. The company will also establish state-of-the-art manufacturing centers on Microtech, solidifying its position as a pioneering force in the corporate landscape.
