History

The Legions of the Praetorian were formed by veteran EVE Online pilots seeking a different kind of power—not bound by strict hierarchy or relentless demands, but driven by shared experience, mutual respect, and freedom of play. What began as a small group of former capsuleers looking for a place to unwind quickly evolved into a structured yet relaxed organization built around choice rather than obligation.

Drawing on their years in New Eden, the founders shaped the Legions into a multi-faceted collective where pilots could pursue any path they desired—industry, exploration, logistics, mining, or combat—without losing connection to a greater whole. Over time, specialized divisions formed organically, each reflecting the strengths and interests of its members, while still operating under the unified banner of the Praetorian Legions.

At the heart of the organization is a simple philosophy: no one is forced into a role, but everyone is valued for the role they choose. This balance of independence and camaraderie became the cornerstone of their identity.

Today, the Legions of the Praetorian stand as a haven for like-minded pilots—those who remember the intensity of their past campaigns but now seek a more grounded, social, and flexible way to fly together.

Manifesto

The Praetorian Manifesto

We are The Legions of the Praetorian—born from veteran EVE Online pilots who have seen the depths of New Eden, weathered its wars, and forged their names among its stars. We do not forget what we are capable of, but we choose a different path forward.

We reject the idea that strength must come at the cost of freedom. We reject rigid chains of command that silence individuality. We reject the notion that a pilot must serve a single purpose to have worth.

Instead, we stand for something rarer.

Freedom of Flight

Every pilot in our ranks is free to choose their own path. Fight, build, explore, mine, trade, or simply exist among friends among the stars—no role is forced, and no ambition is diminished.

Strength Through Unity

Though we fly our own paths, we do not fly alone. We are bound not by obligation, but by camaraderie. Our divisions—Mining, Salvaging, Navy, Logistics, and those yet to come—exist to support, not restrict. Each strengthens the whole without demanding sacrifice of the self.

Legacy of Experience

We are veterans, not novices. We carry the lessons of countless engagements, operations, and journeys across the void. That experience is not a burden—it is a foundation upon which we build something better.

A Place to Belong

Above all else, the Legions exist as a haven. A place where pilots can step away from the noise, find their footing, and reconnect with the joy of flying among friends. Competition may come and go, but respect endures.

The Praetorian Oath

We stand together—not as soldiers bound by necessity, but as comrades bound by choice. We support one another. We respect one another. We fly under one banner, not because we must, but because we choose to.

Join us, and you will not be owned. You will not be confined. You will be part of something greater that still belongs to you.

We are The Legions of the Praetorian.

And the void recognizes us.

Charter

The Legions of the Praetorian — Charter

Article I: Name and Identity

The organization shall be known as The Legions of the Praetorian (“the Legions”).
We are a collective founded by veteran EVE Online pilots, united under a shared banner of experience, camaraderie, and freedom of play.

Our identity is rooted in disciplined cooperation without rigid control, strength without oppression, and unity without the loss of individuality.

Article II: Purpose

The purpose of the Legions is to provide a structured yet relaxed organization where pilots can:

Play the way they choose without forced roles or obligations
Build lasting friendships and community
Engage in all forms of Star Citizen gameplay, including combat, industry, logistics, exploration, mining, and trade
Share knowledge and experience gained through years in New Eden
Operate collectively when desired, without sacrificing personal autonomy

The Legions exist as both a haven and a launch point—supporting individual ambition while enabling coordinated success.

Article III: Core Principles

All members of the Legions are bound by the following principles:

1. Freedom of Choice
Every pilot is free to determine their own path. No role is mandatory, and no playstyle is excluded.

2. Mutual Respect
Members treat one another as equals, regardless of experience, specialization, or contribution.

3. Cooperative Strength
We achieve more together than alone. Collaboration is encouraged but never enforced.

4. Veteran Spirit
We honor the experience, discipline, and lessons earned in EVE Online & now Star Citizen. Newer pilots are welcome to learn, and veterans are expected to share knowledge.

5. Community First
The health of the group and its relationships takes precedence over personal ego, internal conflict, or disruptive behavior.

Article IV: Structure

The Legions are organized into flexible divisions designed to support, not restrict, gameplay:

Navy Division — Combat operations, fleet engagement, defense, and offensive action
Logistics Division — Supply chains, support operations, and fleet sustainment
Mining Division — Resource extraction and industrial development
Salvaging Division — Recovery operations, resource reclamation, and field support
Auxiliary & Independent Pilots — Explorers, traders, freelancers, and unassigned members

Members may belong to multiple divisions or none at all. Division affiliation is optional and fluid.

Article V: Governance

The Legions operate on a leadership model designed for guidance rather than control.

Leadership exists to facilitate coordination, not enforce obedience
Decisions affecting the group are made with input from experienced members where appropriate
Authority is exercised only to preserve stability, respect, and the integrity of the organization’s principles
No member is above the core principles of the Legions

Article VI: Conduct

All members are expected to uphold the following conduct standards:

Maintain respect in all internal and external interactions
Avoid disruptive behavior that harms cohesion or community trust
Support fellow members when reasonably possible
Represent the Legions with professionalism and restraint when operating under the banner

Article VII: Membership

Membership is open to pilots who:

Share the values of freedom, respect, and cooperation
Desire a relaxed yet meaningful community experience
Are willing to engage positively with others

There are no mandatory participation quotas or activity requirements. Engagement is encouraged, not enforced.

Article VIII: Vision

The Legions of the Praetorian strive to be more than a corporation or fleet—we are a long-term home for pilots who remember the intensity of New Eden but seek something enduring, balanced, and human.

We fly together not because we must, but because we choose to.

We are veterans. We are builders. We are explorers. We are warriors when called.

And above all, we are free.

This charter stands as the foundation of The Legions of the Praetorian.
