History

Out in the rough-and-tumble fringes of Stanton, where megacorps like Hurston Dynamics and ArcCorp dominate the skyline, La Grange Logistics carved its place from the dust of the asteroid belts. Founded in 2938 by a collective of ex-freighter pilots and grizzled haulers, the corporation started as a no-frills outfit running raw ore from Yela’s icy rings to Crusader’s smelters. The founders, a tight-knit crew of independents, saw a gap in the market—small operators crushed under corporate heels—and decided to fill it. What began with a single patched-up Cutlass and a stubborn streak grew into something bigger. The name “La Grange” came from a practical truth: a Lagrange point is a stable spot amid orbital chaos, and that’s what the company aimed to be—a dependable lifeline in the cutthroat sprawl of the United Empire of Earth (UEE). Early years were brutal, dodging pirate ambushes in Pyro and scraping by on slim margins at Grim HEX. But their knack for turning raw materials into profit, and their refusal to kowtow to the big players, kept them afloat. By 2945, La Grange had clawed its way up from hauling to refining, cutting deals with independent outposts to process ore into alloys. Their breakout moment hit during the Stanton Resource Rush, when a titanium boom on Daymar saw them outfox larger rivals to lock down key mining claims. With a growing fleet of Caterpillars and a rep for reliability, they expanded into manufacturing—starting with modular hab units for frontier settlers, then adding weapons and ground vehicles as pirate raids spiked across the sector. Now, in 2951, La Grange Logistics is a mid-tier powerhouse with a clear playbook: procure, produce, and transport. They source raw resources from asteroid fields and planetary digs, craft everything from building modules to missile racks in their orbital foundries, and ship the goods via a fleet of Starlancers, Caterpillars, and the occasional Hercules. They’ve even started building ships—rugged utility craft like the MULE and small-batch prospectors for independent buyers. La Grange doesn’t chase the glitz of Crusader’s showrooms or the clout of UEE Senate lobbying. They’re a practical outfit, thriving where others hesitate. Their logo—a stylized Lagrange point inside a gear—pops up at hardscrabble hubs like Levski and Lorville, where they’re known for fair trades and a straight-shooting approach. Whispers float around that they’ve got ties to Citizens for Prosperity, a shadowy group pushing economic control in Pyro’s lawless expanse, trading surplus weapons for favors or intel. La Grange shrugs it off as “just business,” but the rumors linger.

They’ve got their share of foes—Shubin Interstellar’s been itching to poach their contracts, and pirate crews have long memories after La Grange gunners turned their ships to scrap. Still, the corporation holds its ground, a stable cog in a chaotic galaxy. Whether it’s supplying a backwater colony with prefab shelters, arming a militia with fresh rifles, or rolling Ursas off the line, La Grange Logistics keeps the supply chain moving—one haul at a time.
