Loyalty is the price of life. Profit is the only prayer. Fear the pack, not the void.
The History and Core Lore of the Longfang Fleet
Organization Tag: [LNFG] Formal Establishment Date: 2955 S.Y. (Standard Year) Official Slogan: “Loyalty is the price of life. Profit is the only prayer. Fear the pack, not the void.”
I. The Wolf Champion: Diaemus “The Fang”
Diaemus is the iron-willed founder, the author of the Longfang Charter, and the organization’s absolute commander. He is a cold, calculating military leader who views disciplined commerce and conflict as two sides of the same profit equation. He enforces the Code of Iron not out of emotion, but because order is required for survival and wealth in the frontier. His command style is rooted in ruthless pragmatism. His call sign, “The Fang,” reflects his surgical precision in attack and his ability to sink his teeth into a valuable target until the maximum profit is extracted.
Diaemus commands the massive, mobile war-den [LNFG] The Apex, a highly modified Aegis Dynamics Reclaimer. This flagship functions as the organization’s fortified military headquarters and Asset Processing Hub.
II. The Founding Myth: The Blood Debt Tax
The Longfang Fleet was formally ratified in 2955 S.Y., born from a singular, defining moment of betrayal and calculated rebellion.
The Origin Event
Diaemus began the year as a high-ranking security chief for a major corporation. During a pivotal operation, his unit was ordered to sacrifice itself as decoys by corporate command, who prioritized an insured, larger shipment over the lives of the crew.
The Code is Born
Defiance: Diaemus refused the order, executing a high-risk extraction to save his surviving crew.
Taxation: He then immediately seized the very corporate assets he was ordered to defend. He declared the resulting profit not stolen, but a “Blood Debt Tax” levied against the corporation’s cowardice. This act provided the immediate capital to establish the Fleet.
The First Pack: The shared success and survival forged the absolute core of the organization’s morality: “Never abandon the pack.” This single principle underpins the entire Longfang operation and became the foundation of the Code of Iron.
III. The Longfang Hunting Grounds (Mobile Operations)
In its founding year, the Longfang Fleet established a unique, highly mobile operational zone known as The Longfang Hunting Grounds, which dictates that the fleet constantly rotates its assets.
The Two Operational States
The Fleet leverages the strategic contrast between core UEE systems and the lawless frontier:
The Den (Profit & Leisure): This is the temporary Muster Point for recruitment, maintenance, and legal contract-signing. It is often anchored near the high-end orbital platforms of Orison (Crusader system). This zone is led by an assigned Wolf Blade and is where ships are kept legal and clean.
The Lair (Operation & Acquisition): This is the fortified military headquarters for aggressive Taxation runs and strategic conflict planning. It is typically commanded by Wolf Champion Diaemus aboard The Apex in the lawless Pyro System, providing the necessary isolation for hostile actions and asset processing.
The Longfang Doctrine: Intentions, Motives, and Views
This declaration outlines the core principles and worldview of the Longfang Trading Fleet, as mandated by Wolf Champion Diaemus “The Fang.”
I. Core Intentions and Motives
The Longfang Fleet’s ultimate purpose is not revolution or destruction, but self-sustaining, unassailable financial power. Every action is geared toward two critical outcomes:
1. Profit Through Discipline (The Prime Directive):
The Fleet exists to maximize wealth. Unlike disorganized pirates, Longfang operates with rigid military discipline because chaos is unprofitable. We secure high-value assets through “Taxation” (hostile acquisition) and legitimate trade. The goal is consistent, massive profit that ensures the Fleet’s perpetual operation outside the influence of the UEE.
2. Unconditional Independence (The Haven Goal):
The long-term goal is to make The Longfang Hunting Grounds (and specifically the mobile headquarters, The Apex) entirely self-sufficient and untouchable. When the Fleet can move any cargo, through any system, without the fear of UEE or corporate reprisal, the goal is achieved. We seek operational sovereignty, not political control.
II. Views on the ‘Verse (The Worldview)
The Longfang Doctrine dictates specific, pragmatic views toward all major factions within the Star Citizen universe:
A. On the UEE and Corporations (The Prey)
View: The UEE and the megacorporations are corrupt, cowardly, and bloated with insurance wealth. They are defined by the initial betrayal Diaemus suffered.
Motive: The UEE is primarily a source of high-value targets and a tactical obstacle. We do not seek to destroy them, but to exploit their risk-assessment structure. They prioritize the value of an insured manifest over the lives of their security contractors—a weakness we leverage.
B. On the Vulnerable (The Off-Limits)
View: Independent haulers, small colonists, and vessels showing hardship are off-limits (The Code of Iron, § 2.2).
Motive: Targeting the poor is strategically stupid. It invites unnecessary attention, yields low profit, and marks the Fleet as common brigands, which compromises our ability to conduct high-end black market trade and acquisition. Our reputation as selectively ruthless is our greatest shield.
C. On Other Pirate/Outlaw Organizations (The Rivals)
View: Most other outlaws are undisciplined, chaotic, and short-sighted. They are a risk to the Longfang’s orderly pursuit of wealth.
Motive: We will establish temporary truces to secure common profit (especially within the Pyro System), but the Code of Iron is paramount. Any group that violates our Code or encroaches on our established Hunting Grounds is considered a hostile, inefficient rival and will be treated accordingly.
III. The Core Ideology (The Pack Mentality)
The only absolute belief within Longfang is the sanctity of the pack, forged in the fire of the initial betrayal.
The Pack’s Loyalty
Loyalty is not sentimental; it is transactional and absolute. Every member knows that if they perform their duty, they will be protected to the death and will share in the full profit.
“The Code of Iron” is the contract: follow the rules, and you live; betray the pack, and you face the void.
The rule to “never abandon the pack” ensures Longfang crews fight with unmatched ferocity, knowing extraction and support will always be provided, no matter the cost.
Conclusion: The Longfang Fleet is an organization built by betrayed soldiers, run by mercenaries, and dedicated to proving that absolute discipline applied to criminal enterprise yields far greater wealth and power than any legal corporation or military structure can achieve.
The Longfang Fleet Charter
Preamble: This Charter establishes the operational doctrine, internal hierarchy, and rules of engagement for all ships and personnel operating under the banner of the Longfang Trading Fleet. We exist to profit by ensuring the secure transport of goods through any territory, legal or otherwise. We pledge mutual support, iron discipline, and fierce loyalty to the Longfang name.
Ratified: The Feral Lair (Operational Headquarters), 2955 S.Y. (Standard Year) Authored By: Diaemus “The Fang,” Founding Captain
Article I: Fleet Hierarchy and Command Structure
The Longfang Fleet operates on a principle of meritocracy, where command is earned through demonstrable success and battle-hardened experience.
§ 1.1 — Wolf Champion: The single, highest authority. The Fleet Master sets macro-strategic goals, sanctions all major fleet movements, and possesses final veto power over all contracts and disciplinary actions. This rank is currently held by the organization’s founder, Diaemus.
§ 1.2 — Wolf Blade: The Wolf Champion’s hand-picked inner circle. Wolf Blades command major fleet formations (e.g., the Pyro Convoy). They are responsible for vetting and sanctioning high-value, high-risk contracts and resolving disputes between Captains.
§ 1.3 — Wolf Guard: The commander of a single, combat-ready vessel capable of independent operation. A Captain is responsible for their ship’s profits, upkeep, and the discipline of their crew. They are authorized to bid on and execute standard-level contracts under the general direction of their assigned Wolf Blade.
§ 1.4 — Grey Hunter: All core pilots, co-pilots, gunners, engineers, and support personnel who serve aboard a Captain’s vessel. Progression to the rank of Wolf Guard is possible only after serving with distinction.
§ 1.5 — Blood Fang: The first rank of officially recognized personnel. Blood Fangs have completed their probationary period as Aspirants and have demonstrated basic competence, loyalty, and an understanding of the Code of Iron. They are trusted to hold essential, non-command roles.
§ 1.6 — Aspirant: New members and hopefuls. Aspirants are in a mandatory probationary period, learning the Longfang operational doctrine and proving their discipline, skill, and commitment. They are not authorized to partake in profit-sharing until promoted.
Article II: Operational Doctrine
§ 2.1 — Fleet Muster and Signal: All Longfang vessels shall maintain an active, secure frequency for emergency and coordination signals. Failure to respond to a Fleet Muster signal during active combat or distress will result in immediate disciplinary action.
The Howl and the Shield (War-Cry): Before any engagement, all vessels must confirm signal integrity and state the Longfang War-Cry: “By Fang and Fire, the Manifest is Ours.”
§ 2.2 — Rules of Engagement (ROE) / Taxation:
Defense First: The priority is always the defense of the manifest and the crew.
Taxation: If forced to acquire resources via non-consensual means (“Taxation”), targets must be large, corporately insured vessels. Under no circumstances shall an independent hauler, colonist transport, or vessel demonstrating obvious signs of financial hardship be targeted.
No Unnecessary Casualties: Crewmen of taxed or defeated vessels shall be disabled, not eliminated, unless they continue to pose an active threat to Longfang personnel after being given a chance to surrender.
§ 2.3 — Contract Vetting: Any contract valued above a specified internal threshold must be vetted and approved by the assigned Wolf Blade to ensure profitability and strategic alignment with Fleet goals.
Article III: Disciplinary Action and Conduct
§ 3.1 — The Code of Iron: The following offenses are punishable by immediate and permanent expulsion from the Fleet (blacklisting, seizure of assets, and possible elimination if defiance is shown):
Targeting the vulnerable or independent colonists.
Betrayal of a Longfang contract or knowingly providing false intelligence to a UEE authority.
Theft from a fellow Longfang Captain or Crewman.
§ 3.2 — Dispute Resolution: Disputes between Wolf Guard or Wolf Blade will be brought before the Wolf Champion for final judgment. The decision is absolute and binding. Personal vendettas that disrupt Fleet operation are prohibited.
§ 3.3 — Sharing of Spoils: All spoils derived from a coordinated Fleet Muster must be tallied and distributed according to a predetermined percentage formula based on ship type, crew size, and contribution to the engagement.
Article IV: Advancement and Honor
Advancement is granted not by time served, but by tangible achievement, fierce loyalty, and mastery of the Code of Iron.
§ 4.1 — The Rite of the First Fang (Aspirant to Blood Fang): Requires successful participation in five (5) high-risk engagements, absolute adherence to the Code of Iron (no disciplinary actions), and execution of a critical utility role in an emergency.
§ 4.2 — The Rite of the Long Hunt (Wolf Guard to Wolf Blade): Requires successful command in a minimum of ten (10) major, independent contracts, personal mentorship and promotion of at least two (2) Grey Hunters to Wolf Guard, and volunteering for one (1) major protective action for the Fleet at personal financial risk.
§ 4.3 — The Ritual of the Shared Kill (Blood Fang to Grey Hunter): Requires demonstration of exceptional proficiency in a core specialized field (attested to by a Wolf Guard and Wolf Blade) and successful execution of three (3) critical, unsupervised tasks for the vessel or the Fleet.
§ 4.4 — The Trial of the Lone Wolf (Grey Hunter to Wolf Guard): Requires independent acquisition, fitting, and provisioning of a combat-ready vessel (Trial of Solvency); recruitment of a minimum viable crew including two (2) Blood Fangs (Trial of Leadership); and successful planning and execution of a high-value, independent contract (The Proving Run).
§ 4.5 — The Champion’s Decree (Meritorious Promotion): The Wolf Champion reserves the singular right to grant a direct, immediate promotion to any member, bypassing all requirements, in recognition of Extraordinary Valor or an act of Strategic Genius that yields unprecedented, critical advantage for the Fleet.
This Charter is the foundation of our power. Uphold it, and you shall share in the profit. Defy it, and you shall be cast into the void.
