Lux Lunae, officially the 11th Tactical Squadron of the Sotoan Air Force’s 1st Special Operations Wing and nicknamed “Shadow Squadron.”
“Splendid. I do love when the prey bites back.”
Lux Lunae was organized by a strict meritocratic hierarchy. The most elite and decorated pilots of the unit were assigned to the 22nd, 33rd, 44th, 55th, 77th, or 99th units, which were referred to as the “Double Digits” or “Doubles.” Less-experienced members were organized into the less-prestigious triple-digit flights, with the desire to join the Double Digits’ ranks being a common motivator among junior members of Lux Lunae. The moon phase depicted in the squadron’s emblem varied depending on unit; all triple-digit units used a waxing crescent, the 99th used a first quarter, the 77th through 33rd used a waxing gibbous, and the 22nd used a full moon.
