History

“Triumph through Trial.”

Established in 2061 as Maas Biolabs ®, the corporation soon grew to to be a giant in the Biotech industry. The success of our patented BioChip © saw Maas Biolabs ® as the leading innovator for countless centuries.

By 2852, Maas Biolabs ® had become a threat to the weak in its success, and thus was inexorably crushed in a Covert Operation by the Xi’An Empire. The cowardly UEE, once thought a friend, stood idly by as more and more concessions were granted to the Enemy. However, all was not lost. Maas Biolabs ® was never truly destroyed.

Resurrected in 2932, the original Illustrious Cabal of Maas Biolabs ®, were quick to take action, laying down the groundwork for the perfect corporation. Maas Industries ® was reborn from the ashes of defeat and scorn, surrounded by Enemies grown fat on betrayal. With this rebirth came the establishment of the T.I.S™ approach.

Manifesto

“A house divided against itself cannot stand.”

As a practitioner of T.I.S™, Maas Industries ® values functionality and dominance above all. Thus, Maas Industries ® and its employees understand the importance of functionality over the sheer size exhibited by other bloated corps. Maas Industries ® aims to employ only the best in their respective fields, with menial tasks contracted out to the grunts. This way efficiency is maximized whilst simultaneously keeping a low profile in the face of our enemies.

If you know yourself to be capable, join us in the coming of a New Age. An age where Technological advancement is unhindered, where petty ethics are powerless against the tide of Innovation, where government interference is met with the strong arm of Security. Maas is small now, but will soon honor its namesake in size and strength.

Charter

“Order in scale.”

Maas Industries ® functions at a small scale, favoring order and functionality over sheer size. Thus, employees are ordered in temporary Operator Squads. Maas Industries ® operates a system in which the hard workers are rewarded and strengthened, and slackers and parasites are discouraged. This is achieved through our unique Salary and Fee systems, which stimulate productivity, high morale and success.

Salary.

Maas properties built by Maas employees or gained in Operations are key to the salaries of all Maas employees. Every week, the earnings of all Maas properties and Operations deposited in the corporate Income account are completely distributed to all Maas employees according to their rank. The wages are allocated evenly at first and then adjusted according to rank, with excess wages going to the Maas Budget account, which allows us to grow our properties and increase our net income. New employees at Rank 0 will receive a wage equivalent to 15% of Rank 5 employees. Rank 1 employees will receive a wage equivalent to 30% of Rank 5 employees. Rank 2 employees will receive a wage equivalent to 40% of Rank 5 employees. Rank 3 employees will receive a wage equivalent to 60% of Rank 5 employees. Rank 4 employees will receive a wage equivalent to 80% of Rank 5 employees. Naturally, Rank 5 employees will be awarded a 100% portion of that weeks’ income.

Budget.

At the turn of every Earth week, members must submit their running costs, net revenue and profit/loss, along with any contacts established and missions completed. The Cabal will take this information and with employee cooperation, allocate 5% of all employee profits, including those in the Cabal, into a corporate Budget account. This budget account, organized by our Treasurer, will be used to fund Maas Operations and general expansion of the corporation. Employees deemed in need of extra funding in order to, for example, finance a new Maas arms factory, will be subsidized appropriately and publicly.

Employee of the Week.

Another 5% of all employee earnings for that week will be allocated to the corporate Bonus account. These will be given to the Employee of the Week as a bonus for their success. A vote will be held, with each employee voting on any other employee they believe has achieved the most for Maas Industries ® that week. The winner will take that weeks’ bonus and will gain positive recognition for this in their Company File.

Maas Operations.

As an active Industrial and Security corporation, Maas Industries ® regularly engages in operations needed to expand and protect our resources and faculties. Any operation ideas are reported or requested to the Maas Cabal, where employees appropriate in experience(or lack thereof), equipment, resources and skill-set are chosen for the task. These Maas Operators are debriefed by their appropriate superiors and given any appropriate funds for the task. After the conclusion of the operation, an operation report is compiled by the designated* Operation Leader.* Mission wages are awarded according to the contents of the report, with the Operation Leader being rewarded the equivalent average of the Squad’s wages in order to promote productivity and prevent corruption. The performance of each operator is summarized and appended to their Company File. A bonus is awarded for team success and a deduction is applied for preventable mission failures and concessions.

Maas properties.

Despite the fact Maas employees own their own, private property, Maas operates mostly on its properties shared by the whole company. These properties, be they starship factories or asteroid mines, are operated and protected by Maas employees as a secondary work function. These properties are key to the salaries of Maas employees, meaning property and resource growth is essential. With these resources, Maas may engage in trade with other corporations, organizations and governments. Out of convenience and for the sake of order, these corporate properties, trade transactions and bank accounts are maintained by the Core Founders of Maas. To be clear; only public, corporate properties and credits are controlled by the Core Founders. Employees’ own properties, earnings and company wages are entirely in their control.

Company Files.

All Maas employees have a Company File. It tells us what they have done and what they are capable of. It tells us when it’s time to terminate someone or promote them. A Company File is a record of one’s achievements, a testament to the power of Maas Industries ®.

The Cabal.

The Cabal is the executive branch of Maas Industries ®. It is composed of the Core Founders and other members of upper management that oversee various parts of the corporation. The Cabal has the final word on all matters, but is welcome to any complaints or challenges.

Whilst unobtrusive in nature, all employees, regardless of rank must abide by the Maas Charter. It follows;

  1. Under NO circumstances may any Maas employee attack a coworker or ally without provocation or executive permission
  2. Under NO circumstances may any Maas employee steal from a coworker or ally without provocation or executive permission.
  3. Under NO circumstances may any Maas employee form a direct alliance with the Xi’An Empire. UEE co-operation is accepted, but discouraged.
  4. Under NO circumstances may a Maas employee instigate combat with another faction unless retaliating in self defense or under express mandate from upper management (Cabal).
  5. Employees may diverge from their positions sightly, but all work assigned must be completed under penalty of execution/bounty following termination.
  6. Any employee seeking resignation must notify upper management before leaving, lest they face* execution/bounty.*
  7. Employees may operate any spacecraft they wish, within reasonable boundaries in regards to their function in the corporation.
  8. Unless engaging in covert operations or given special permission from upper management, all spacecraft must display at least one Maas marker and must be maintained at Universal OH&S Standards.
