Summary

MESCO first came together in 2950 while serving in the UEE 7th Carrier Strike Group .
What started as an off-hours hobby project with a few engineers in a spare flight hangar, salvaging and repairing abandoned mining equipment encountered during the fleets patrols, grew into a concerted effort to increase the resource independence and self-reliance of the Carrier Group by utilising the salvaged mining equipment and encorporating them into fleet operations.

In addition, a database was established to map and catalogue the geological surveys for the systems the fleet visited during it’s patrols. While first classified for internal use, the surveys eventually became outdated enough to not jeopardise operational security, and were made available to the general public.

The first version of the MESCO Mining Database was compiled in 2952, with the first comprehensive survey of the Stanton system being published in 2953. An informal infrastructure entity was established in that same year, to ease the maintenance and organisation of MESCO data communications. MESCO was officially registered with the United Earth Empire chamber of commerce on January 1st 2954.

当初は、艦隊の哨戒中に遭遇した放棄された採掘装置を回収・修理するという、数名の技術者による余暇の趣味プロジェクトでした。しかし、この取り組みは次第に、回収した採掘装置を艦隊運用に組み込み、空母打撃群の資源自立性と自己完結性を高めるための本格的な活動へと発展しました。
さらに、艦隊が哨戒で訪れた星系の地質調査をマッピング・カタログ化するためのデータベースが構築されました。当初は内部利用のために機密扱いでしたが、調査情報が古くなり、作戦上の安全性を損なわないと判断された後、公開されることとなりました。
MESCO採掘データベースの初版は2952年に編纂され、スタントン星系の包括的な調査報告は2953年に発表されました。同年、MESCOのデータ通信の維持と整理を容易にするため、非公式のインフラ組織が設立されました。そして2954年1月1日、MESCOは正式に「地球連合帝国商工会議所」に登録されました。
