Manifesto

Our Intent

We are Salty-Sagittarius-A-Star, and our intention is simple: to chart the cosmos, not claim it. We exist to venture beyond the known jump points, push the limits of star charts, and make the uncharted systems our temporary home. Our journeys are not fueled by profit alone, but by the relentless curiosity to see what lies on the other side of the void. We seek discovery, shared experience, and the quiet satisfaction of seeing a galaxy few others have.

Our Motives: Why We Fly
Our motives are twofold: Discovery and Crew.

For the Void: We are driven by the call of the deep black. Where others see danger, we see the next great finding—be it a new nebula, a hidden relic, or a profitable resource deposit. We are pioneers, not tourists.

For the Crew: The vastness of space means nothing without others to share it with. We believe the ship’s most valuable cargo is its Salty Crew. We foster a social environment where every Greenhorn learns from a Seasoned Hand, and no one is left stranded or forgotten, no matter how far out we roam.

Our Views: The Salty Creed
We adhere to a few core beliefs that govern our operations:

Experience is Earned: We value practical knowledge gained through challenging trips over mere firepower. Every scratch on the hull tells a story.

Safety Through Solidarity: Respect is paramount. We demand non-toxic conduct within the organization. We are rugged, but we are not reckless with each other.

Leave No Trace, Except in the Logs: We are explorers, not vandals. We treat the systems we find with respect, focusing on documentation and careful resource gathering.

The Black is Home: We are dedicated to supporting our members’ interests—exploration, trade, combat, or rescue—as long as it helps the crew survive and allows us to push further out.

We fly hard. We fly far. We fly together.

Charter

The Salty-Sagittarius-A-Star Charter
This Charter outlines the mandatory code of conduct and operational standards expected from every member of Salty-Sagittarius-A-Star, from the newest Stowaway to The Singularity. Our priority is the integrity of the crew and the success of our shared exploration goals.

I. The Code of Conduct (Social Integrity)
Respect is the Hull Plating of the Crew.

Zero-Toxicity Policy: Treat all fellow members and the broader community with respect. Harassment, excessive insults, hate speech, or targeted drama is strictly prohibited and will lead to immediate removal. We are salty, not toxic.

Discord is the Bridge: All key communications (mission planning, important announcements, major discoveries) happen on our official Discord server. Active participation is expected; silent Stowaways for extended periods will be subject to review.

No Unsanctioned Griefing: While we are not a strictly lawful organization, we do not tolerate random, unprovoked attacks or griefing against other players or organizations. All combative actions must be planned, targeted, and authorized by a Quartermaster or higher rank.

II. Operational Standards (Exploration & Loot)
What is Found in the Black Stays in the Crew.

Group Loot Distribution: Any significant profits, unique items, or valuable discovery data acquired during organized group missions will be distributed fairly, based on the risk taken, contribution to the mission, and seniority (Rank 3 and up).

Supporting the Greenhorn: It is the duty of Seasoned Hands (Rank 3+) to guide and support newer members. We believe in helping the Greenhorns get established, whether through mentoring or sharing resources.

Mission Integrity: Once committed to a crewed exploration jump or task, all members must see the mission through to completion unless granted permission to leave by the crew leader. Commitment is paramount to survival.

Data First: In any deep-space exploration scenario, the recovery and protection of jump-point data and discovery logs are prioritized above material salvage or secondary targets.

III. Rank and Progression
Your Service Determines Your Stripes.

Progression: Rank advancement is determined by consistent participation, demonstrated competence in exploration and combat roles, and positive contributions to the community (social activity).

The Stowaway (Rank 0): This is the trial rank. Stowaways must actively engage and show commitment within a set period to avoid being cleaned out during the next sweep.

By applying and accepting the invitation to Salty-Sagittarius-A-Star, you agree to abide by this Charter. We ask only for your commitment and your sense of adventure. Now let’s fly.
