History
The Order of St. Moses the Black, also known as the Black Order, is a Christian religious order founded during the darkest years of the Messer regime in order to provide a defense against pirates, the Vanduul, and other violent attacks which plagued poorer traders and small communities on the rim of human space; people who the Messer Regime was systematically failing to protect.
The Black Order soon became quite large as many selflessly abandoned the pursuit of financial gain in order to provide protection for those who had none. The founding leader of the Black Order was imprissoned by the UEE for criticizing the 1st citizen’s lack of action at the edge of dangerous space. The Order was soon labled a criminal organization and its members hunted by by the UEE.
Although the order persisted, its size remained small as its members hid from the iron fist of an empire they had selflessly sacrificed worldly possessions in order to protect. To this day, the order fights to remove the stigma of the UEE’s false accusations as it still persists in providing protection, medicine, and search and rescue for those who are in need.
St. Moses the Black was an Ethiopian monk on ancient Earth whose exploits as a warrior were rivaled by few prior to his conversion to Christianity. When he converted and joined a cloistered order, his strength and bravery in the face of death saved the lives of many of his fellow monks when the monastery was overrun by those bent on destroying them for their faith. St. Moses valiantly gave his own life defending the lives of his brother Christians. St. Moses’ actions and ability to use his strength and bravery in order to protect the weak rather than oppress them is the model we strive to follow.

Manifesto
The Order of St. Moses the Black seeks to serve Christ and our fellow man by being the shield and sword which stands as a bulwark against forces of evil.
We are a paramilitary Religious organization, aimed at supporting law and order, and promoting justice. We provide protection for the weak, guidance to the strong, fellowship, loyalty, and camaraderie for all.
What this means to those we meet is this: If you do not desire PVP/PVE, but must travel to dangerous regions, we will provide protection. We protect the everyday citizen from trolls, pirates, Vandal, and any other malicious or violent threats they might face in the verse. We also perform search and rescue and provide medical aid to those in need of it.
Charter
1: “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.

4: “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.
5 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
6 “You shall not murder.
7: “You shall not commit adultery.
8: “You shall not steal.
9: “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
10: “You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

The Black Order is organized into two chapters: Fleet and Ground. Members are not assigned to a particular chapter, but chain of command is established based on these. Fleet officers maintain tactical command of aerospace operations and Ground officers are in command of infantry operations. If you participate in both, you will answer to the officer(s) that are in charge of the mission you are currently participating. For example: If you are flying a Hornet in an air assault, you will fall under fleet command. If the assault is finished and you decide to land and join the ground assault, you now fall under Ground command. Infantry men operating on board ships as either security or crews will fall under Fleet command and ships which are actively providing Close Air Support (CAS) will fall under Ground command.

A knight of the Oath is a sworn member of the community and a main member of the Black Order. Selection for Knights of the Oath is on invitation basis and is only offered to the most trusted members of the Order.
