Welcome, Nighthawks. We’ve been expecting you.

History

The Nighthawks

The Nighthawks began where few governments cared to look: Tyrol V.

A world of scorched rock, deep chasms, and caverns where the sun itself could kill you. Beneath its surface sat Haven and countless forgotten facilities left behind by those who came before. Tyrol was one of the few places where a person could live beyond the reach of the UEE and its bureaucracy.

That was where Olehauser and two others met.

Three people from different walks of life—a former UEE General, a mercenary, and a pilot contractor. Different histories and different skills, but the same desire for independence.

They found an old research facility deep beneath the surface and made it their meeting place. Within its depths they discovered a Kraken, remarkably intact after years of being mothballed and forgotten.

Rather than leave it buried in the darkness, they brought it back to life. They restored its systems, repaired what had been neglected, and turned the ship into their base of operations.

As they worked, an idea began to take shape. They worked well together, and realized they could accomplish more together than they could alone.

So they built something of their own.

The Nighthawks were born.

What started with three people and a forgotten Kraken became a brotherhood of independent operators—small by design, bound together by choice, and determined to carve out a future of their own.

Today, the Kraken remains the heart of the Nighthawks—a fortress in the stars, a home to those who carry the banner, and a reminder of where it all began.

From the depths of Tyrol V, we found our beginning.

We carve our own path.

Manifesto

FREEDOM

Freedom is the right to choose our own path and accept the consequences of where it leads. We do not surrender that right to governments, corporations, or anyone else.

Our lives are ours. Our choices are ours. Our future is ours.

INDEPENDENCE

The Nighthawks choose their own course. We may work with governments, corporations, and other powers when it serves our interests. We take contracts, conduct business, and pursue opportunities across the verse.

But our independence is never for sale.

A contract is a means to strengthen our freedom—not a leash.

STRENGTH

Freedom must be defended. We build the skills, resources, discipline, and strength necessary to protect ourselves and those who stand beside us.

We do not seek conflict for its own sake, but when necessary, we are capable of decisive action.

MERIT

Within the Nighthawks, respect and opportunity are earned through action. Ability, reliability, judgment, and contribution matter more than status or wealth.

Those who prove themselves capable may rise, lead, and shape the future of the organization.

Your place is defined by what you bring to the table—not how long you have been sitting at it.

LOYALTY

Every Nighthawk is free to pursue their own life, ambitions, and path. Those who choose to stand beneath the banner stand together when it matters.

Never leave a Nighthawk behind.

We are stronger together because no one remains free alone.

HONOR

Freedom is not an excuse for recklessness, exploitation, or betrayal. We keep our word, carry our weight, and stand by those who stand beside us.

Our convictions matter because we choose to live by them.

OUR PATH

We do not wait for others to determine our future. We build, adapt, and endure.

We take the opportunities that strengthen us and reject those that compromise our independence.

We carve our own path.

Manifest our destiny.

Charter

PURPOSE

The Nighthawks exist to preserve and pursue the freedom of their members through cooperation, strength, independence, merit, and shared convictions.

We are an independent outfit capable of combat, security, exploration, industry, logistics, recovery, transport, and contract operations.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is selective and voluntary.

We value *character, reliability, capability, contribution, and conviction*—not wealth, rank, assets, or hours played.

Members are free to pursue their own interests. Real life comes first.

When a Nighthawk commits to an operation, reliability is expected.

MERIT AND RANK

Rank is earned through demonstrated ability, sound judgment, reliability, leadership, and contribution to the Nighthawks.

Time served alone does not entitle a member to promotion. Those who consistently prove themselves capable may be given greater authority and opportunity within the organization.

Rank is earned through merit, not granted by time.

Every Nighthawk has the opportunity to rise through their actions and achievements.

THE RIGHTS OF A NIGHTHAWK

Every Nighthawk is free to:

  • Pursue their own goals and interests.
  • Develop their own profession and capabilities.
  • Operate independently within Nighthawk convictions.
  • Question decisions and voice disagreement respectfully.
  • Pursue outside opportunities that do not compromise Nighthawk obligations.

THE CODE

Every Nighthawk is expected to:

  • Carry their own weight.
  • Respect those who stand beside them.
  • Keep their word.
  • Accept the consequences of their actions.
  • Protect the interests and reputation of the Nighthawks.
  • Uphold our convictions.
  • Never knowingly betray or deliberately endanger another Nighthawk.

LOYALTY

A Nighthawk does not leave another Nighthawk behind.

We stand together because we share a fundamental objective:

To remain free.

Individual freedom and collective strength are not opposites. We rely upon one another so that no outside power can easily take that freedom from us.

AUTHORITY

Leadership exists to provide direction, coordination, and continuity—not ownership.

The Space Marshal holds final authority over the organization. Command Officers and senior ranks exercise delegated authority in accordance with the Charter.

Authority is entrusted to those who have demonstrated that they can carry it.

Leadership is earned through trust, proven through action, and maintained through results.

DISCIPLINE

Freedom does not mean freedom from consequences.

A member who seriously endangers another Nighthawk, betrays the organization, or deliberately acts against its convictions may face demotion, removal of authority, or expulsion.

You are free to choose your actions.

You are responsible for what follows.

THE PRINCIPLE

The Nighthawks do not exist to rule the verse.

We exist to live in it on our own terms.

Free to choose.
Strong enough to defend it.
Capable enough to lead.
Loyal enough to stand together.

We carve our own path.
