Ranks

Ranking within the Nova is more of a social distinction than a Role. Your rank is determined by your fellow men and women of our organization. Always remember that.

- Freelancer: Not everyone is cut out to be a member of our organization. Maybe you just couldn’t make it as a prospect or you just choose to walk your won path. But that does not mean that the organization has not noticed that you have certain skill or abilities that could be useful. As a freelancer you will always be on the outskirts, allowed to operate with us and offered jobs that we think are appropriate for you but not officially a part of our group.

- Prospect: In order to become a prospect, a member of our organization has to vouch for you putting their reputation on the line. Prospect is the first step becoming a full fledged member of our organization. This is your time to prove your worth; to prove to us that you are not only a capable set of hands, but that you are also reliable and trust worthy. Remember it’s not only your reputation on the line, it’s also risking the member who decided to put you forward. If you prove yourself reliable enough, the captains may take notice or show us that you are a cut above the rest and become a specialist in your own right.

- Crewman: If you’re lucky and you can prove yourself as a prospect, you might just attract the attention of a captain who is willing to take you onto their own ship. This means that you have proven your worth and we have accepted you as a full-fledged member. You will stand among us then as a brother or sister.

- Specialist: Among our ranks there are always those who have a particular skill set that sets them apart from all the others. Pilots are the most common specialists; men who can fly fast and far, thread an Orion through an asteroid field or drop out of a warp and leave nothing behind but smoking hulls. But there are many other unique skills and abilities that can always be utilized. So the question is, friend are you different from all the rest and if you are, when are you going to prove it?

- Commander: To be a commander you have to be a cut above, you must have not only the skills, knowledge and equipment to run a ship. But you must also prove to yourself and to your fellow brothers and sisters that you have the leadership skills necessary to lead your fellow captains into the heat of battle and get them out alive. To do this you need to have the respect of your fellow captains and if they are willing to follow you then you are worthy of the title of commander. Just remember you are responsible for everyone under your command and their lives are in your hands. Are you prepared for that burden ?
