History

After witnessing countless individuals and small crews fall through the cracks, the founder recognized the need for an organization that would offer opportunity without judgment. This became The Last Resort.
We don’t advertise. We don’t recruit. People find us when they need to.

Manifesto

The Last Resort exists for those who have run out of options. You may be a fugitive or a refugee, you may be seeking a new life or just looking for a place to be forgotten. In any event, we don’t care. We are salvagers, and salvagers are survivors. We work the routes others won’t touch, take the jobs others won’t risk, and ask no questions.

We Offer
  • Work without judgment.
  • Fair compensation. Shares are divided equitably based on role and risk.
  • Off-grid sanctuary. Safe harbors where you can disappear.
  • Operational support. Ships, equipment, contacts, and expertise.
  • Loyalty.

Charter

Article I: Membership
Section 1.1 – Admission
Membership in The Last Resort is by invitation only. Potential members are identified through reputation, referral, or direct observation. We do not recruit publicly. Those who need us will find us.

Section 1.2 – Expectations Members are expected to:
  • Contribute to operations
  • Maintain operational security
  • Support fellow members
  • Respect the autonomy and privacy of all members
  • Uphold The Last Resort’s reputation in all dealings

Section 1.3 – Departure
Members may leave at any time, no questions asked..

Article II: Operations Section 2.1 – Primary Activities The Last Resort engages in:
  • Salvage, scavenging and resource operations
  • Cargo and logistics
  • Discrete transportation services
  • Equipment and material acquisition
Section 2.2 – Contract Selection Contracts are evaluated on the basis of:
  • Risk versus compensation
  • Legal exposure
  • Alignment with organizational values
  • Crew safety considerations

Section 2.3 – Chain of Command
Each operation has a designated lead. That lead has final authority during the contract. Off-mission, we operate as equals.

Article III: Code of Conduct Section 3.1 – Non-Negotiables We do not:
  • Harm civilians
  • Traffic sentient beings
  • Conduct operations targeting innocents or medical facilities
  • Betray crew members or operational partners
  • Cooperate with law enforcement without unanimous crew consent

Section 3.2 – Discretion
What happens on a run stays with the crew. What you see in our safe harbors is never discussed outside them. Operational details are never shared with outsiders.

Section 3.3 – Conflict Resolution
Disputes between members are handled internally. To resolve some disagreements, we employ our own internal dispute resolution system called the Fray (see Section 3.4), but continued violence between crew members results in immediate expulsion.

Section 3.3a – The Fray
When dealing with a dispute, if a straightforward resolution cannot be achieved, the Cap can enforce a resolution by mortal combat, known as the Fray. If both parties agree, the trial will proceed. The victor will be deemed to have resolved the dispute and no further discourse will be entered into.

Article IV: Resources and Compensation
Section 4.1 – Equipment
The Last Resort maintains a pool of ships and equipment available to members. These assets are owned collectively and maintained through organizational funds.

Section 4.2 – Profit Distribution Contract profits are distributed as follows:
  • 40% to active crew members (divided by share system based on role)
  • 35% to organizational maintenance and operations
  • 15% to reserve fund for member emergencies
  • 10% to founder’s discretionary fund

Section 4.3 – Emergency Support
Members in crisis may draw from the reserve fund. These are grants, not loans. We take care of our own.

Article V: Governance
Section 5.1 – Leadership
The Last Resort is led by its founder, the Cap. This position is non-transferable and permanent. Strategic decisions rest with the founder.

Section 5.2 – Operational Autonomy
Crew leads (Wardens & Hunters) have full autonomy during active contracts. The founder does not override operational decisions unless safety is critically compromised.

Section 5.3 – Voice
All members have voice in organizational matters. Concerns, suggestions, and grievances may be raised to the founder or discussed collectively.

Section 5.4 – Special Circumstances
On rare occasions, the founder may request specific crew members for particular contracts. These requests should be honored when possible, though members maintain the right to decline without consequence.

FINAL WORD
The Last Resort is not a family. Families are inherently mercurial and typically pretend to be more than they are. We are what we are: survivors helping survivors. We are the hand that reaches down into the dark when no one else will.
If you’re reading this, you probably need us. Or we need you.
Welcome to The Last Resort.
“When there’s no other option, reach out a hand in the darkness. We’ll find you.”
