Order of Solaris / OATHOFSUN

The Order of Solaris emerged during the uneasy years that followed humanity’s first violent expansions beyond the Core Worlds. In an age where corporations carved planets into profit margins and mercenaries sold loyalty by the hour, a scattered movement of pilgrims, veterans, navigators, and former UEE officers began preaching a different doctrine:

That humanity had not crossed the stars merely to survive… but to become worthy of them.

The Order teaches that the sun — Solaris — is the eternal symbol of guidance, sacrifice, and illumination against the cold void. To its followers, every star is a reminder that even in darkness, mankind was meant to bring light. Their creed values discipline, honor, stewardship, and the defense of civilization from corruption, piracy, and despair.

Though often mistaken for zealots, the Order does not force conversion. Instead, they travel the frontier offering aid where governments fail: escorting refugee convoys, defending remote colonies, recovering lost civilians from Vanduul raids, and preserving forgotten knowledge hidden within abandoned systems. Their warships are recognized not only by their radiant white-and-blue heraldry, but by a reputation for answering distress calls others would ignore.

At the heart of the Order lies the Lumen Creed:

“Stand where the dark is deepest.
Bear the flame others cannot carry.
Let no soul drift unseen beneath the stars.”

The organization itself is divided into several sacred branches:

• The Dawn Guard — warrior-knights and fleet defenders entrusted with martial protection.
• The Lantern Scribes — historians, cartographers, explorers, and keepers of ancient data archives.
• The Solwardens — frontier protectors who establish sanctuaries and aid stations in dangerous systems.
• The Choir of Ember — spiritualistic traders who preserve the philosophy and rituals of the Order, and trade goods throughout the galaxy.

Rumors persist that the Order possesses hidden observatories deep within uncharted space, where its highest-ranking members study strange stellar phenomena and ancient signals of unknown origin. Some claim they seek enlightenment. Others whisper they are preparing humanity for something coming from beyond the edge of explored space.

Whether viewed as noble guardians, mystics in armor, or dangerous idealists, one truth remains consistent across the Empire:
