Founded in 2949 by former UEE Marines, independent haulers, frontier medics, and tactical pilots, Obsidian Vanguard began as a precision strike and security outfit operating along the dangerous borders of Stanton and Pyro.
Early contracts focused on:
• Counter-piracy patrols
• High-risk convoy escort
• Hostile extraction missions
As the organization’s reputation grew, so did demand. Clients required more than combat support — they needed reliable teams capable of handling logistics, rescue operations, industrial support, and long-range deployments across unstable systems.
In 2952, Obsidian Vanguard restructured into a full-spectrum operational company, expanding into:
• Combat & Security Operations
• Logistics & Hauling
• Medical & Rescue Services
• Mining & Salvage Operations
To support increasingly complex frontier deployments, the organization developed the:
VANTA Tactical Intelligence Core
Originally designed as a battlefield analysis and command-support AI, VANTA evolved into a semi-autonomous operational intelligence system capable of tactical analysis, mission coordination, threat prioritization, data retrieval, and crew assistance during high-risk operations.
Engineered specifically for frontier survival and deep-space command continuity, VANTA became deeply integrated into Vanguard fleet operations and strategic planning.
Within Obsidian Vanguard doctrine, VANTA is regarded as:
“The ever-present strategic shadow behind every successful operation.”

Obsidian Vanguard was created with one goal in mind: to build an organization where players can enjoy the full experience of Star Citizen while contributing to something larger than themselves.

This organization is founded on freedom of play. Whether you are a hardcore pilot grinding contracts daily or a casual player looking to jump into operations when time allows, there is a place for you here. We believe every role in the universe has value — from combat pilots and medics to miners, haulers, engineers, salvagers, and tactical leaders.

Our purpose is to build a professional and reliable organization capable of taking on contracts across every field of operation. Through teamwork, planning, and coordination, we aim to create opportunities that generate success and profit not only for the organization, but for every member involved.

Respect is a core principle of the Vanguard. Members are expected to support one another, maintain professionalism during operations, and follow the chain of command when missions are underway. Strong leadership and organized execution are what separate successful operations from failed ones.

We are looking for players of all experience levels — from casual recruits to future division leaders willing to organize teams, develop operational plans, and lead missions within their chosen specialization. As the organization grows, our ranking systems, divisional structures, and contract doctrines will continue to evolve.

Most importantly, we recognize that Star Citizen is still in Alpha. The experiences we gain now — the victories, failures, training exercises, and live operations — will prepare us for the future of the game when Star Citizen 1.0 fully launches. The Alpha is our proving ground. Every mission today builds the foundation for what Obsidian Vanguard will become tomorrow.
