In the shadowed corridors of the ‘verse, where secrets are currency and trust is a liability, Obsidian Veil was born, not as a single act, but as a gradual convergence of necessity, ambition, and vision.

The roots of Obsidian Veil trace back to the early days of interstellar expansion, when the rush for resources and territory led to fierce competition among corporations, governments, and outlaw factions. Amidst this chaos, a handful of operatives, disillusioned intelligence agents, rogue explorers, and data brokers, found themselves united by a common realization: information was the true power in the universe, and those who could control it would shape the fate of empires.

Operating first as a loose network of informants and shadowrunners, the group specialized in uncovering what others sought to hide. They mapped uncharted jump points, intercepted encrypted transmissions, and sold their findings to the highest bidder, sometimes to pirates, sometimes to corporations, always to those who understood the value of the unseen.

As their reputation grew, so did their ambitions. The network formalized, adopting the name Obsidian Veil, a symbol of both the impenetrable darkness in which they operated and the sharp, crystalline clarity of their insight. The mask became their emblem, a reminder that true vision often requires concealment.

Obsidian Veil’s methods evolved with the times. They recruited the best minds in cryptography, surveillance, and infiltration. Manifesto

Charter

In the boundless expanse of the ‘verse, where shadows conceal both danger and opportunity, Obsidian Veil stands as the unseen hand and the ever-watchful eye. We are explorers of the unknown, gatherers of secrets, and brokers of information. Our purpose is to illuminate what others would keep hidden, to shape events from the darkness, and to ensure that knowledge remains the greatest power of all.

Article I: Purpose

Obsidian Veil exists to:

  • Uncover, analyze, and secure information of value across the universe.
  • Conduct exploration, reconnaissance, and intelligence operations with discretion and precision.
  • Broker intelligence to select clients, and, when necessary, influence the balance of power for strategic advantage.
  • Protect the interests and anonymity of our members at all costs.

Article II: Principles

  1. Secrecy:
    The strength of the Veil lies in its shadows. Members are expected to maintain the utmost discretion regarding operations, affiliations, and internal matters.
  2. Loyalty:
    Loyalty to the Veil and its mission is paramount. Betrayal or the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information will not be tolerated.
  3. Excellence:
    Every operation, from the smallest data retrieval to the most complex infiltration, must be executed with professionalism, precision, and adaptability.
  4. Initiative:
    Members are encouraged to act with autonomy and creativity, seeking opportunities where others see only obstacles.
  5. Integrity:
    While our methods may be unorthodox, our word is our bond. Deals struck by the Veil are honored, and our reputation as reliable brokers is fiercely protected.

Article III: Structure

  • Veilmaster:
    The leader and final authority on all matters, responsible for strategic direction and the security of the organization.
  • Shadow Council:
    Senior operatives who advise the Veilmaster, coordinate major operations, and oversee specialized cells.
  • Handlers:
    Mission coordinators and intelligence brokers who manage field agents and assets.
  • Field Agents, Scouts, Analysts, and Assets:
    Operatives who execute missions, gather intelligence, and support the Veil’s objectives.

Article IV: Membership

  • Membership is by invitation or vetted application only.
  • All members must swear an oath of secrecy and loyalty.
  • Advancement is based on merit, discretion, and contributions to the Veil’s success.

Article V: Operations

  • All operations must be approved by a Handler or higher authority.
  • Collaboration with external organizations is permitted only with Shadow Council oversight.
  • The Veil reserves the right to refuse any contract or alliance that threatens its secrecy or integrity.

Article VI: Amendments

This charter may be amended by the Veilmaster with the counsel of the Shadow Council, provided such changes serve the best interests of Obsidian Veil.
