History

Planet Earth: The Philippine Space Act of 2012 called for the establishment of an agency which will be in charge of space science studies and endeavors of the country.
In 2014, the Philippine Space Agency was born as a unified space agency.
The Philippine Space Agency was being maintained by several government agencies under the Department of Science and Technology. Among these agencies are the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and the National Alien Research Council (NARC).
Initially, the Philippine Space Agency (PHSA) programs aim was to launch microsatelites to track weather patterns in order to predict and manage natural disasters. In 2016, the Agency was able to launch the country’s first microsatelite in cooperation with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
Over the centuries, PHSA evolved into an organization for space exploration, transport and research for the advancement of the human race.

The PHSA champions and advocates the highest standard of moral responsibility, ethical behavior, professionalism, and public accountability.

MISSION

The PHSA is committed to deliver excellent exploration and transportation services, exercising utmost integrity, transparency, and justice; promoting decency and modesty among its officials, members and stakeholders as well; and optimize the utilization of space exploration, research and technological innovations; and continuously improve and develop member competency.

SERVICE PLEDGE

We, as civil servants of the PHSA mandated to regulate, promote, and develop a competitive exploration and space transportation industry that supports and sustained, reliable, affordable and accessible exploration and space transport services to, from, and within supported points in the universe and deliver efficient services to our stakeholders and to the public at large, do commit:

to provide diligent, honest, and sincere service to all our clientele;
to demonstrate and maintain ship decorum at all times;
to be consistent and just in applying rules and regulations to our clientele;
to act and resolve promptly complaints against irregular transactions, impropriety in all activities of the officials, members, and our stakeholders as well;
to exhaust all diplomatic channels in the event of conflict, before resorting to violence;
to be transparent to all members and share all points of interest;
to maintain transparency, uplift innovative spirit and enhance expertise towards service excellence and universal competitiveness.
