History

Corporate History

2905 – Founding

PulseNet was founded in 2905 as a small experimental broadcast initiative within The Exelus Corporation, originally intended to distribute promotional media and cultural programming to corporate clients.

At the time, most entertainment distribution still relied heavily on localized planetary networks and commercial entertainment providers. Exelus recognized an opportunity to create something larger: a multi-system entertainment broadcast network capable of delivering music and visual media anywhere comm signals could reach.

The early PulseNet network consisted of only three broadcast relays and a single music channel.

Within five years, its audience had grown far beyond corporate clientele.

2910 – The First Expansion

As civilian traffic between systems increased, PulseNet began establishing relay partnerships with major comm arrays, allowing broadcasts to travel alongside navigation and commercial signals.

This expansion enabled PulseNet to launch its first genre-focused music divisions:

- Trailstar – frontier country and spacer folk
- NovaBeat – electronic and synthwave music popular in core systems
- **IronChord **– rock and industrial metal

For the first time, citizens on distant worlds could listen to the same music broadcasts simultaneously across multiple systems.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

2918 – The Visual Era

Recognizing the growing demand for visual media, PulseNet expanded beyond audio broadcasts into videography and photography networks.

The division launched PulseVision, a visual programming service featuring:

- Music videos
- Cultural documentaries
- System travelogues
- Live concert recordings
- Photojournalism from explorers and independent reporters

This era cemented PulseNet as a full-spectrum entertainment network rather than simply a music broadcaster.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

2927 – The Citizen Creator Program

In 2927, PulseNet introduced one of its most influential initiatives: the Citizen Creator Program.

Under this program, independent artists, pilots, explorers, and photographers could submit original media for broadcast consideration.

The results reshaped PulseNet’s identity.

Instead of relying solely on corporate productions, the network began showcasing:

- Cargo haulers recording life in deep space
- Frontier musicians performing in asteroid bars
- Photographers documenting newly charted systems
- Journalists covering the lives of settlers and miners

PulseNet became known as the network that broadcasts the voice of the everyday citizen.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

2938 – Inter-System Broadcast Standardization

By 2938, PulseNet had become large enough that inconsistent relay protocols began causing broadcast delays across distant systems.

In response, Exelus funded the development of PulseSync, a broadcast compression and synchronization protocol allowing media to travel efficiently through existing comm infrastructure.

PulseSync allowed PulseNet to:

- Deliver live concerts across systems
- Synchronize music releases Empire-wide
- Broadcast major cultural events in real time

Today, PulseSync remains the backbone of PulseNet’s broadcast technology.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

2946 – Cultural Preservation Initiative

Recognizing the importance of preserving humanity’s artistic heritage, PulseNet launched the Cultural Preservation Initiative in 2946.

This project focused on restoring and digitizing historic media from:

- Old Earth archives
- Pre-Messer era recordings
- Early UEE broadcast history

Many classic works now rebroadcast on PulseNet channels originate from these restored archives.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

2956 – Present Day

Now in its 51st year, PulseNet stands as one of the most influential entertainment networks in the United Empire of Earth.

With hundreds of broadcast partners, thousands of independent contributors, and millions of daily listeners, the network continues to expand into new systems and frontier territories.

PulseNet programming now reaches:

- Core worlds
- Industrial systems
- Frontier colonies
- Long-haul shipping lanes
- Deep-space listening posts

From quiet acoustic performances drifting across comm channels to full-scale interstellar concert events, PulseNet remains committed to one mission:

Bringing the music, stories, and images of humanity to every corner of the ‘Verse.

For over 51 years, PulseNet has connected people through sound and story. From the crowded skylanes of ArcCorp to quiet listening posts beyond the frontier, our network ensures that wherever humanity travels, its culture travels with it.

Our programming spans every corner of entertainment:

Music Broadcasting
From frontier country and orchestral symphonies to industrial metal and electronic club music.

Visual Media
Music videos, documentaries, and cultural storytelling through PulseVision.

Photography & Exploration
Showcasing the work of photographers and explorers capturing the beauty and reality of life across the stars.

Citizen Creator Program
Independent musicians, artists, and storytellers from across the Empire share their work directly with the galaxy.

Through a network of interstellar broadcast relays and PulseSync communication technology, PulseNet delivers entertainment across dozens of systems in real time.

Our mission is simple:

Bring the sound, stories, and creativity of humanity to every corner of the ‘Verse.

Whether you’re a pilot crossing a jump point, a miner working deep in an asteroid belt, or a citizen relaxing at home on Terra, one signal always travels with you.

If it has a signal, it has Pulse.
