Welcome to P.Y.R.E. Co! We are a Conglomerate focused on meeting the needs of our customers, whatever they may be. Though a small firm we leverage our services to larger groups with similar aims and ideals.

History

A chance meeting between two very different men as they mustered out of the UEE Navy in 2944 would ultimately ignite the spark that would light the fires of Pyre Co. In just a few short years, Pyre Co. would grow into a small but significant business conglomerate that would have its ships and members blazing their way from one side of the universe to the other in the service of humanity and its membership.

UEE Navy High Admiral Jhonas Novasong was born into a family of wealth and privilege with centuries of honorable service to the UEE, particularly the Navy. After many years of service, High Admiral Novasong rose through the ranks of the Navy to become the overall head of Naval & Marine Logisitics. He spent the majority of his time working to improve the morale and professionalism of the Logistics forces, while at the same time ensuring that “his” naval and marine forces were equipped with everything that they required to complete their mission at all times. Eventually tiring of the politics involved in being a part of UEE Naval High Command, concerned about the direction the UEE was headed in and with his Citizenship long since earned, High Admiral Novasong decided to turn in his retirement papers and make his mark upon the ‘Verse in a different manner. His Naval salary and his family wealth had enabled him to collect a small fleet of personally-owned ships, his biggest decision was what he was going to do with them and himself.

UEE Navy Captain P.J. MacPharson IV’s family situation, connections, and upbringing could not have been more different than that of his Pyre Co. co-founder’s. P.J. MacPharson IV is the third in a series of clones created specifically to continue fighting and killing as many Vanduul as possible. After having memories of doing nothing but fighting and killing Vanduul for a couple hundred years, Captain MacPharson began wondering what else was out there besides the fight against the Vanduul. He knew about military life, combat, piloting, life in space, dealing with the rougher elements of society and of course the Vanduul, but he had almost no experience outside of those areas. Retiring from Navy, Captain MacPharson had the funds left-over from previous lifetimes plus his retirement and Citizenship benefits. What does someone who has been doing the same thing for a few centuries do when he decides to try something different?

As his final act prior to his retirement becoming effective, Admiral Novasong was taking one final inspection tour of the frontier area where his Naval career had started as a Gladius pilot decades earlier. Upon completing the tour of the final fleet base on his list, Admiral Novasong found himself in its Personnel Department waiting area while his final retirement documents were being processed. Having nothing better to do, he turned to the gruff looking, highly decorated and battle-scarred Captain that was sitting a few chairs over and started a conversation…

Captain MacPharson sat in the Personnel Department patiently waiting for the personnel clerks to get his paperwork in order so that he could officially retire from the UEE Navy and then… do what? Not knowing what his next mission or purpose in life was an unsettling feeling for someone that had always known what his purpose was from the day he awoke in the cloning chamber. His train of thought was interrupted when a High Admiral walked into the room and strode over to the yeoman manning the reception desk. Captain MacPharson rose, automatically saluted the higher-ranking officer and then reseated himself once the salute was returned and courtesies were exchanged. He briefly wondered what a High Admiral was doing this far out on the frontier before sinking back into his own thoughts. A few minutes later, his thoughts were again interrupted when the Admiral sitting a few chairs over introduced himself and asked Captain MacPharson why he was here. The conversation that would start in that personnel office would carry over to the personnel transport taking the newly retired pair of officers to the very stars that the ships of their future business conglomerate would soon be forging across.
