The Red Fleet is a paramilitary group of Communist revolutionaries, sworn to end the tyranny of the UEE and to destroy the capitalist mode of production that has brought a thousand years of brutal oppression and exploitation.

Workers of the galaxy: You have nothing to lose but your chains.

History

A spectre is haunting the galaxy – the spectre of communism.

You cannot put out the fires of revolution. Throughout the last millennium, many have tried – corporate overlords, the Messers, the Advocacy, all those who would deny us our liberation. Always we have risen again. The Kieren protest, the unrest of the 28th century, the death of Anthony Tanaka, the disgust at the humanitarian disaster that is Project Archangel – at long last, people of the galaxy refuse to be preyed upon any longer. The time has come to rise up in arms against these bloody tyrants and to show them the power of the united worker’s front.

The Red Fleet was founded in 2944 on Terra by a small group of revolutionaries. With the increase in unrest as a result of the SynthWorld project and the new ferocity of Vanduul attacks, it was deemed a suitable time to agitate for revolt in the galaxy once more. Rejecting the UEE as an imperialist, exploitative nation and denouncing the Senate as a tool of capitalist oppression, the Reds began an armed campaign against the Empire around the border worlds, ambushing government patrols, assassinating UEE officials, and spreading revolutionary doctrine wherever they go.

OOC:

The Red Fleet is a heavy-RP guild, meaning we’re going to be IC most of the time (though not all). You don’t have to be an actual socialist or communist to join (though we encourage actual leftists and will not be roleplaying/tolerating Soviet-style parodies), but the roleplay is all going to revolve around that, so do know what you’re getting into. There will be no activity requirements in the Fleet, though activity will obviously be correlated with promotion. Above all, we want people to have fun with a group that exists at odds to the establishment in Star Citizen.

Manifesto

We are the People.

Workers of the galaxy: our time has come. No longer will we be slaves to the corporations, to the Advocacy, to the Imperator. The UEE’s legacy is monstrous – centuries of oppression and exploitation, where tiny steps are made only when we come together and demand it by force of arms. Let the cycle end here and now! Let us land the fatal blow on the tyrants that oppress us! Rise up against the evil Empire and reclaim the galaxy for the People! You have nothing to lose but your chains!

The People demand the following:
  • The immediate dissolution of the UEE and the establishment of a democratic state dedicated to the principles of socialism and the eventual establishment of galactic communism.
  • The immediate nationalization of all business within the borders of the new democratic state as a first step in dismantling the capitalist machine.
  • The immediate emancipation of all political prisoners and the release of all records relating to their imprisonment.
  • The immediate trial of various individuals in the government, and especially the Advocacy, for war crimes against the People.
  • The return of Kaleeth to the Tevarin people, who have suffered for centuries under the thumb of the UEE.

We will maintain our armed campaign against the UEE until all of our goals are achieved. Compromise is unacceptable. Whenever a UEE patrol strays too far out of safety, we will destroy it. Whenever the UEE completes a new project, we will be there to bomb it. Whenever a UEE official exploits his people, we will be there to try him and execute him. We acknowledge no war but the class war.

Charter

Rules

Our rules are simple.

  1. You will not harm an innocent where it can be avoided. The bourgeoisie are not innocent. The men and women crewing their ships usually are. Self-defense is permissible.
  2. You will not steal from a proletarian – and especially not from a comrade. Greed is incompatible with our mission.
  3. Cooperating with the UEE is punishable by death.
  4. Insubordination will be strictly punished. Obey the orders of your commanding officers unless they are giving commands that are contrary to the well-being of the revolution.
  5. Money earned in a Fleet operation will be split between the participants and the Fleet itself.
  6. Where the strength of our force allows it, an innocent in peril must be defended – be it from the Vanduul, pirates, the Advocacy, or anyone else.

Structure

Divisions

The Red Fleet is split into three major divisions:
  • The Operations Division is responsible for all military operations of the Fleet, including raids on UEE bases and convoys, attacking pirates, legitimate contracting, and ground operations.
  • The Intelligence Division is responsible for espionage, both military and corporate, as well as internal security. They locate viable targets for Operations to attack, good business strategies for Finance to take advantage of, and criminals and traitors within the ranks of the Fleet.
  • The Finance Division is responsible for funding the operations of the Fleet through methods both legitimate and illegitimate. Trade, smuggling, science, repairs, and medical treatment are all viable methods to gain the money crucially required to buy supplies.

Rank Structure

The governing body of the Fleet is the General Fleet Convention, consisting of five representatives, whose duties are thus:
  • The Director General is responsible for the overall well-being of the Fleet.
  • The Director of Operations is responsible for the Operations Division.
  • The Director of Intelligence is responsible for the Intelligence Division.
  • The Director of Finance is responsible for the Finance Division.
  • The Director of Recruitment is responsible for the acquisition and training of new recruits.

All these positions are filled by election every 3 months, with the exception of the Director General, which is a permanent office. Any commissioned officer of the Fleet is permitted to stand for election for any or all of these posts, though they may only hold one at once. Members of rank Volunteer and above are permitted to vote in these elections. The GFC settles issues with a simple vote, majority rules.

Below the Convention, ranks are thus:
  • Captains (CAPT) are responsible for furthering the purpose of their division. They are required to heed orders given to them by their Director, but otherwise enjoy a large degree of self-determination for their company or cell.
  • Lieutenants (LT) are subordinate to captains and are responsible for the everyday operations of the company, in addition to aiding the captain in their duties and commanding squadrons.
  • Specialists (SPC) have proven their proficiency in a certain area of expertise. They are, by no means, barred from participating in operations outside the scope of their specialization, but they are looked to as experts in a certain field and utilized as such by their superiors.
  • Volunteers (VOL) are the backbone of the Fleet, and will comprise the majority of its members. They are the soldiers, the merchants, and the spies responsible for carrying out Fleet operations at the lowest level.
  • Recruits (SR) have been accepted into the Fleet but have yet to learn all the ropes. They can be promoted to Volunteers once the Director of Recruitment is satisfied that they are a good fit.
