Welcome Martians, to the original movement that started on our beloved planet of Mars. We fought off the corrupt Ultor Corporation and the tyrannical EDF successfully and we are here to protect our planet by any means necessary! Even if our own gov. views us as pointless. For Mars!

History

Obviously history is a little skewed. The events of Red Faction and Star Citizen take place on different timelines in different universes, so bear with the retcon.

In 2200, the Ultor Corp had found themselves a gem long sought after… Martian Mining. After swiftly striking out all competition, they became corrupt and blind with profits. With pursuit of increasing profit they were driven to use harsher labor tactics and budget cuts, causing the workers longer hours and less pay. A small miners riot began in 2210 and erupted from a call for fairness to a full fledged uprising known as The First Martian Revolution. During the course of the fighting, an insidious Ultor scientist, crawled out from the woodwork and posed a significant obstacle to the miner revolution. He made use his power in the soulless corporation to experiment on miners and conduct research into “Nano Tech,” creating beastly mutants and unleashing a plague upon the miners.

As the tide turned to the Red Factions favor, the Ultor Corp unleashed the Mercenary Regiment from their reserves, but the Red Faction held out until the EDF (Earth Defense Force) came to their aid, overthrowing Ultor. Peace was short lived as the EDF fell from Martian protectors to an occupying force. In 2238 The EDF were beginning to be pressured by leaders and corporations from Earth over the resources that Mars possessed. Earth was overcrowded and its resources were becoming scarce, and the EDF vowed to help. Shortly after The First Martian Revolution’s success, a second was well under way. Miners were now in worse conditions than they were under the Ultor Corp and planned to stop it. The Second Martian Revolution had begun.

When the miners finally rallied together they were a force to be reckoned with. Guerilla tactics and burglary helped them become a more effective fighting force than the EDF on a small scale. Though out manned and out gunned, the Red Faction continued to free Tharsis one sector at a time. The EDF, having control of the Martial Council, were relentless with propaganda and lies against the Red Faction. Proven mostly ineffective to miners, the Red Faction used the Council’s own broadcasting system against the EDF, causing even more people to rally with the Revolution.

The Marauders, a large group of old Ultor scientists turned scavengers, were at war with the Red Faction and the EDF at the same time before eventually joining along with the Red Factionists. Together the Marauders and the Red Faction were winning at a rapid pace. All of their might though, would pale in comparison to the E.D.S. Hyrda. A Severus-Class Dreadnaught, holding two hundred thousand military personel with a core of elite Omega Legionaires. By the time the Hyrda reached Martian orbit, the Marauder-Red Faction alliance had already overthrown EDF Central Command. The Factionists held a piece of Nano technology from Ultor called the Nano Forge and was their trump card. With this Nano Forge the miners and scavengers of Mars launched a stolen RM-8 missile at the Hyrda. The EDF, expecting an easy victory, was caught off guard by this missile and the Hydra was destroyed effectively ending the conflict in 2242.

Throughout time there have been those who tried to kill us and use us. Now that is a thing of the past, but its frequency of happenings caused us to bring together the Faction once again. We are the silent protectors of the night. The freedom fighters upholding our democracy. We take action where others cannot and kill those who deserve much worse. We will continue to operate outside the law and protect our brothers and sisters that have no voice in this government. We will also continue to protect against foreign invaders that vow to take what is rightfully ours.

Manifesto

Too many times in our history have we been slaves to Earth. Our intentions are to never have our children be forced into labor or have to fend off its own protectors from raping and pillaging their homes. Below are our goals and intentions as a Faction and as the now secret guardians of our Red Planet.
  • Never allow our planet to be used as a resource for others
  • Never allow us to be used as a resource for others
  • Preserve our way of life and our history
  • Keep our Government in check
  • Fend off any occupying forces
  • Reserve our right to do with our resources as we please
  • Protect the people of Mars, whether a foreigner in a strange land, a differing view point, or a separate faith
  • Keep a watchful eye on the Corporations that serve to do us harm and help us
  • Last, but certainly not least, to uphold our right to bear arms and hold form of militia for protection from tyrannical government and foreigners

Charter

This is roleplaying but we aren’t too strict on it. If you are a member, then you are a Martian, simple as that. We may need you in conflicts to protect the Red Planet or to take out a politician, but of course it is optional. We aren’t casual but we do like a little bit of commitment. We reserve the right to kick members for reasons discussed by the higher ups. You can always appeal any decision and we will always be open for why you were kicked in the first place. You can also request that your reasons are kept secret as we don’t care for drama. Below are simple rules to live by while you are a Martian, and these rules apply to everyone!
  1. Don’t be a dick or cunt. Basically be nice to the Faction
  2. Do not go rogue and take actions into your own hands ie. respect your rank. If you commit an act without us, then you will deal with it without us.
  3. Subtle hatred towards Earth is okay but it is all in the fun of it
  4. You can be racist to other humans from other planets ie. “Get outta here you Terran!”, but keep the color commentary to a minimum unless joking
  5. Everyone is welcome, even non-native Martians, so long as their interest is the same as the Faction (we aren’t radicals)
  6. But most importantly, have fun!
