The history of the Phoenix Brigade begins in the year 2945. They began as members of The Tower, a large organization that grouped ships to designate them in various projects throughout the galaxy. The current members of the Phoenix Brigade began as Cell 12, one of fifteen action groups serving the Tower. As its notoriety was on the rise, several other organizations began to watch the movements of The Tower with caution. In May of 2945, the organization began to receive several offers of purchase, but the majority were rejected. That same month a meeting of all the cells of The Tower in Yela was organized to discuss the different proposals and listen to the opinions of its members. After several discussions over two weeks, it was decided by a majority of 9 to 6 that The Tower would become part of Morgan-Cross Logistics Corporation, a multi-million conglomerate based in Lorville. The decision did not like Cells 03, 07, 12 and 14 in particular, since the gains of the cells were considerably reduced.
The relationship between the cells and Morgan-Cross became noticeably tense between the last months of the year 2945, when Cell 03 was fired by the big corporation after they discovered that the ship’s crew had been negotiating deals behind the Organization’s back. When the remaining Cells went to complain to the leaders of The Tower, they ignored the disagreements of its members. The discontent with the new leadership became apparent when several of the members of Cell 03 appeared dead in strange circumstances at various points in the galaxy. Suspicions were raised and various groups of The Tower contacted to determine the causes of these strange accidents. Even with joint help, no evidence could be found until early October 2945, when one of the remaining members of Cell 03 was attacked and left for dead. With the renewed energies and photographic evidence of the assault, the Cells took their case to the leaders of The Tower. Even presenting the physical evidence, the investigation of the case was denied. After that, Cell 12, which had maintained leadership in the matter, began to receive fewer and fewer contracts to work with, losing most of its members in a single week. At the end of November, they were presented with a single job, the recovery of some artifacts in Daymar. When the crew of Cell 12 was loading these devices, the ship in which they went exploded, taking two of its members that were still inside, doing routine repairs.
Abandoned, the seven members of Cell 12, had to stay in Daymar, working for one of the mining organizations to save up to buy a ship with which to leave the moon. Before crossing the atmosphere, the members of Cell 12 swore to discover the truth of the attack that occurred in Daymar, who had caused it and why. On December 12, the Phoenix Brigade was founded.
